Happy Tails Cat Rescue Society Happy Tails Cat Rescue Society is an incorporated not for profit animal rescue in the South Okanagan. So what does our rescue do?

Rescuing cats and helping them live their best lives is a passion for us. We help cats that need love and care. We work to advocate for cats and help them find their forever home. We work to stop unwanted litters of kittens by helping to spay and neuter cats. Our rescue is operated out of a home and all cats and kittens in our care are either housed here or placed with loving foster homes. We believe this will help their personalities show and thrive and better enable us to match a cat with their purr-fect adopter. We ensure all kitties in our care get the vet care they need including shots, deworming, microchip, spay or neuter. We are working hard to reduce the feral population in our service area through spay and neuter and TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) programs. Our adoption process aims at matching the right humans with their purr-fect pet. We believe that every animal is worthy of a stable environment, food, water, affection and humane care. We are always here to help and are always advocating for cats.

Shadow ~ 1 year old spayed female

The beautiful little girl was a very young momma but has now been spayed and is ready for a new family and a terrific life!

She is a quiet girl who loves to curl up beside you on the couch or in your bed. During her time with her foster family there were many children. As well as a dog whom she was very affectionate with. So she is accustomed to a busy household.

She enjoys playing and is incredibly agile. She takes a lot of interest in going outside so would likely enjoy a life where she can safely access outside.

Shadow would make a lovely companion to a family or single person with her lovely quiet demeanor.

Do you have a cat carrier that you no longer need? If so we would be so grateful to receive it. In rescue we never seem to have enough. Donations are appreciated so we can keep the majority of our funds to put towards vet costs and food and litter. If you have one to donate please drop it off or connect with us to arrange pick up! Smudge ~ 1-2 year old spayed female

Meet Smudge, a beautiful black cat with a shiny coat, glowing eyes, and a curious little heart. She was a wonderful mom to her babies but is ready for a life of leisure for herself.

Smudge can be a bit shy when meeting new people or entering a new environment, so she’ll do best with a patient, loving family willing to let her settle in at her own pace. Give her a little time and she’ll show you what a sweet and affectionate girl she really is.

Once she feels safe, Smudge loves exploring, investigating anything new, and keeping an eye on what her people are up to. She especially enjoys curling up beside someone she trusts for a cozy nap. As her confidence grows, she becomes a loyal little shadow, following her favorite people from room to room just to be part of the day.

Smudge is looking for a special home where she can take her time, build trust, and blossom into the wonderful companion she’s meant to be. If you have room in your heart for a gentle girl who is learning to trust, Smudge may be the one for you.
