The perfect place for young riders to start 🐴

Equestrian Canada’s Rookie Riders program is coming to Sagehill Stables this fall!

Designed as an introduction to equestrian sport, Rookie Riders helps youth build the balance, coordination, core strength and confidence needed for riding — all in a fun, progressive environment.

Using ground-based activities and the Rookie Riders barrel, participants develop foundational riding skills before putting them into practice with horses.

✨ No riding experience required.

📅 Tuesdays | 6–7 PM
🗓 Starting September 15
🐴 Ages 8–15

🐴 Meet Coach Emily!

Emily began her equestrian journey attending summer camps at Meadow Green, where she quickly developed a passion for horses and riding. She has now been taking riding lessons for eight years and has been actively volunteering within the equestrian community for nearly as long.

Emily began her training in dressage before discovering her passion for jumping. In 2023, she made the transition to Sagehill Stables, where she has continued to develop her riding skills while becoming increasingly involved in the Sagehill community.

Through volunteering and participating in our Coach Mentorship Program, Emily has continued to expand her experience and knowledge — and we’re so excited to officially welcome her to the Sagehill coaching team! 🤍

Emily is passionate about helping riders of all levels develop their skills, sharing her knowledge, and creating a positive, supportive and welcoming environment for every rider.

BUT — school is almost back, the nights are getting cooler, and before we know it, sleigh season will be here. ❄️🐴

Sagehill is now booking winter sleigh rides, family gatherings, Christmas celebrations and corporate events for the upcoming season.

Did you know a horse’s teeth can give us clues about their age? 🦷

As horses get older, their teeth change in shape, wear and appearance — allowing an experienced eye to estimate how old they are.

This guy just happened to give us the perfect opportunity to take a look. 😂
