You know your horse best. If something seems different, even if you can’t quite explain it, it’s worth checking in.

Sometimes reassurance is exactly what you needed. Ruling out a problem can be just as valuable as finding one.

Vaccines, dentistry, deworming, nutrition, lameness, there are no silly questions when it comes to your horse’s health.

Circumstances change. Horses change. Their needs change too. Adjusting the plan can be one of the best things you do for them.

Because horses have a way of needing you to find it quickly. 🐴

If your horse is acting differently, moving differently, eating differently, or you just have that feeling something isn’t right, give Central Vet a call. We’re here to help you figure out the next step.

Some patients make it very easy to sneak in a few extra cuddles. 🐱💚

Dr. Nellie O’Leary, one of the newest veterinarians to join the Central Vet team, got some quality snuggle time with Senna, a nearly 12-week-old kitten who came to see us after injuring her front leg.

After an exam and X-rays, we were happy to find no broken bones! 🎉 Senna headed home with some anti-inflammatory medication and, of course, a few extra cuddles before she left.

Wishing this sweet little girl a smooth recovery! 💚🐾

Looking for a veterinarian for your furry family member? Appointments can be scheduled with Dr. O’Leary through the link in our bio. 🩺🐾

As we get closer and closer to opening the doors at Central Vet West in Headingley this fall, we’ve been reflecting on just how much support has brought us to this moment. 💚

Every kind word. Every thoughtful review. Every recommendation to a friend, neighbour, or family member. Every time you’ve trusted us with an animal you love.

Those moments may feel small, but to our team, they mean more than you know.

Central Vet continues to grow because of the incredible community that chooses to support us, share our name, and trust our team. We are so grateful to have you along for this next chapter.

If you’ve had a great experience with Central Vet, one of the best ways you can support us is simply to keep spreading the word. We can’t wait to welcome even more of you through our doors in Headingley this fall. 💚

A room full of Central Vet staff AND five adorable puppies… what more could you ask for? 😆💙

We recently had the sweetest little crew of Biewer Terriers in for their very first puppy exams. Meet Zander, Zinnia, Zara, Zane & Ziggy!

With Dr. Samyra Stuart-Altman and Dr. Nellie O’Leary shadowing, along with vet student Asia, Hospital Assistant Shay, and RVT Sarah, these babies had quite the welcoming committee. Safe to say, no one was complaining about having a few extra sets of paws in the room!

First puppy visits are an important opportunity to check growth and development, discuss preventative care, and help set puppies up for a healthy start, with plenty of cuddles along the way.

Thanks for making our day sweet babies! You should probably share this with someone who needs a smile today. 🥹

It’s never too late to start. 💛

Maybe you’ve been meaning to start brushing your pet’s teeth. Maybe you’ve noticed they’re slowing down and want to talk about supporting their joints. Maybe you’re wondering if it’s too late to ask about having your pet spayed or neutered.

Whatever it is, there’s no judgment here.

We know life gets busy, circumstances change, and sometimes you simply don’t know what you don’t know. Our job isn’t to make you feel guilty about what you could have done sooner. It’s to help you figure out what you can do now.

Ask the question. Bring up the concern. Tell us what’s been on your mind. We’re always happy to talk through your options and help you decide what makes sense for you and your pet.

Because when it comes to caring for them, it’s never too late to make a positive change. 🐾

Have something you’ve been meaning to ask us about? Call or text us at 204-275-2038, or reach out through the link in our bio. We’re here to help.

Sometimes you need fresh air. Sometimes you need a kitten. Sometimes you need both. 😉

RVT Ashley snuck in a quick cuddle break with Sprout, Hospital Assistant Shay’s adorable kitten.

Just one of the perks of working in vet med. 😉
