Letā€™s talk tackšŸ™ŒšŸ¼

You wouldnā€™t wear shoes 3 sizes to small or too big for you and go run for 3 miles right? So why are we putting ill fighting saddles on and making our horses do it.

ā€œIā€™m not spending money on a saddle that cost more than the horse.ā€ There are plenty of used saddles everywhere for a decent price, Facebook market place and groups are my favourite! Ask to borrow some to see what fits your horse before committing to buying one or ask the store lots offer a 30 day trail period or help you find one that fits. The saddle will out last the horse and they are 100% resell-able.

2. The saddle padā€¦ would you put on crusty socks with holes in them and wear them all day everyday? No. Make sure your saddle pad is clean and big enough to provide the cushion it needs under the saddle. Again you can find great quality pads on used tack sites for a great price and they last a very long time if taken care of. Also make sure your pad is not putting pressure on the wither when saddled.

So put them together you got socks that are crusty, got holes in them and shoes that donā€™t fit. Now go walk 3 miles. Are you grumpy? Sore? Irretated? Want to take them off? Exactlyā€¦. Your horse cannot tell you these things with words so how can they communicate? Bucking, rearing, biting, kicking out, and not letting you catch them. Then what happens? The horse gets blamed and punished for something that is not their fault.

Please please please do your research and ask for help if you donā€™t know if your tack is doing its job, this can prevent wrecks and ensure the longevity of your horse.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out we are always happy to helpšŸ’œ

Letā€™s hear it for the ā€œboringā€ coloured horse.. the sorrel and the brown.

Way too often Iā€™ll stumble across an ad ā€œno sorrelsā€ and it truly baffles me. My best horses have been ā€œboringā€ but that doesnā€™t stop them from being amazing partners. (Sorrel is my favourite colour)
Trust me a shiny sorrel or brown will still draw plenty attention as you just canā€™t beat it!

Donā€™t over look a phenomenal horse just because you prefer blondes šŸ«¢ and if youā€™re still not sold thatā€™s fine, leaves more sorrels for me šŸ¤£

PSA: if someone paid to get professional photos taken of their horses for a sale IT IS INCREDIBLY FROWNED UPON to steal them for your own sale ad. This shouldnā€™t even be a discussion. Unless you asked and they agreed but never assume you have a right to the photos because you own the horse now.
