Soi Dog Foundation needs your help and is reaching out to past adopters who could be open to rehome and welcome a pup located in the greater Sudbury area of Northern Ontario or know of an experienced dog owner that would be interested. We know all too well that life for a Thai street dog comes with his/her own series of hardships before he/she finds refuge at the shelter. This was no different for Bambala before he arrived at Soi Dog Foundation. However, Bambala was one of the lucky ones given the opportunity to leave the shelter to find his forever home in Canada with rescue, Furever Furbaby, in May 2021. Unfortunately, today, circumstances have changed, and he is now in need of finding a new home. Bambala is looking for a calm, adult-only (no young children) household with the patience to allow him to take things at his own pace and understanding to support his needs.

About Bambala (from adopter):

· Estimated DOB: March 01, 2020
· Male, 6 years 6 months old, 38lbs
· Very sweet and gentle boy who loves his people
· Bam lived in a foster home before ours which had another small dog, a cat and teenage boys. He did very well there, and they considered keeping him before we adopted him.
· When we first got him, we had two other dogs in the house. A female Pomeranian and a male Pyrenees mix. For the first day or two he would show his teeth at them, but he quickly came around to loving them. The two boys would play multiple times a day. The Pomeranian had zero interest in playing but Bam would try now and then.
· Loud sounds and sudden movements still make him nervous
· He is definitely more comfortable with females or calm, quiet males.
· He has seasonal allergies (red itchy skin) during the spring/summer. We give him antibiotics which have made a huge difference. Besides allergies he has never had a health issue.
· Loves sunbathing and digging holes
· He has been bathed at home and at the groomers and has done very well with both
· He is good in the car (quiet)

Soi Dog is asking for help to spread Bambala's story in hopes she gets another chance at a forever home and a family that will care for and support her needs. Soi Dog appreciates your time and consideration to share Bambala's availability for adoption: Adopt Bambala | Soi Dog Foundation.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is interest or any further questions.

Kind regards,

Teddy

Soi Dog needs your help and is reaching out to past adopters who would be open to rehome and welcome a pup located in London, Ontario. Mia, who was part of Soi Dog’s International Partner Rescue Program, was welcomed by Jack Russell Terrier Rescue Ontario (JRTRO) in August 2021 and, subsequently, adopted one month later. Today, Soi Dog is assisting JRTRO to identify potential candidates as she is patiently living with the adopters and waiting for another opportunity for the forever home she truly deserves.

About Mia (From adopter):
Estimated DOB: April 20, 2019
Female, 6 years 11 months old, 39lbs
Loving, shy, loves her toys, is independent and loyal
Housetrained
Leash trained
Knows sit, paw, down and has great recall in the back yard
Not crated……no destruction while left alone
High prey drive
Protective of her family and does much better at the vet if her owners do not accompany her in the exam room
Beautiful dog who would do well in a quiet home with a couple or single person, no small children. She would love a fenced yard to run and watch for squirrels.

Note: Attached are Mia's medical records since arriving at JRTRO. Medical history from her time at the shelter is available for review, if necessary.

The Incident: Mia is being relinquished back to JRTRO due to a bite to the other dog in the home while they were interacting. Also, Mia has growled at the grandchildren.
“When Mia first arrived, she was very timid and got along with Zoey very well. They used to play together, sleep together and all of a sudden, we were in the other room and heard them fighting. We don’t know exactly what happened, but Mia had Zoey pinned, by the neck, and wouldn’t let go. That was the one and only time that they had a physical interaction, but now Zoey is leery of Mia and tries to avoid her. If she comes too close to her, Mia will growl at her, but there’s been no more attacking.”
Robin said her son brings his dog over and Mia and the other dog will play for a long time and not have any issues whatsoever.
Mia has met other dogs and will do a slight growl, but no lunging, no going after them physically.
Grandchild is only four months old. Mia does not like Robin to hold her grandchild on her lap so it’s a jealousy thing.

About JRTRO Forever Foster
Sometimes the dogs who come into JRTRO are in their golden years or not adoptable for whatever reason. They’ve lived a whole life before finding their way to us, and while they still have so much love to give, we know that these dogs can sometimes come with medical needs or extra care.
For many families, taking that on alone can feel overwhelming, and we completely understand that. That’s why we’ve been so grateful to offer Forever Foster placements.
A Forever Foster is a beautiful partnership. The dog goes home with a loving person or family who gives them comfort, safety, and all the love they deserve. Meanwhile, JRTRO continues to support with veterinary care and medical costs, so the financial burden doesn’t fall entirely on the person opening their heart.
It means our senior or unadoptable dogs don’t have to spend their final chapter waiting in rescue. Instead, they get soft beds, quiet homes, gentle walks, and someone who loves them right to the very end.

Soi Dog appreciates your time and consideration to read Mia's story. Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is interest or any further questions.

Teddy

This was Sammi . She was found walking the streets of New York City with a back injury . She ended up at New York City Animal Care and Control on their Euthanasia list . She was rescued adopted out and returned after 10 days for biting her adopter . Again on the Euthanasia List .
I told my husband we had to rescue this little dog . Why her ? I don’t really know except that she had a hard life and because of that , she should not be killed .
Called the Rescue Group who had originally saved her …I was at work and asked my co-workers to be my reference and as they were also working .
We were accepted and my husband and I drove to Binghamton NY
Where we picked her up .
Yeah , she bit me multiple times and I got to know her triggers .
She was a wonderful, funny little dog and helped my husband recover from heart surgery .
One morning she suddenly died , her work was done .

I have written about Sammi b/c even dogs with history need to be adopted .
