One of my favourite parts of caring for Ali & Jack was getting to know their individual personalities and sharing those little moments with their family while they were away.

At Graham & Sissy’s house, apparently I have two.

Graham takes his supervisory duties particularly seriously. Meal preparation, playtime, housekeeping — even my water bottle can be subject to inspection.

Sissy may be a little more subtle about it, but she keeps a pretty close eye on things too.

Every cat has their own purrrsonality, and getting to know all of their funny little habits is one of my favourite parts of caring for them. 💙

It might seem like a small detail, but in an emergency, every minute counts. That’s why the location of each cat’s carrier is one of the things I confirm with my clients before their booking begins.

And ideally, the carrier shouldn’t be something that only comes out for dreaded vet trips! Leaving it accessible from time to time — with a familiar blanket, treats or even a favourite toy — can help make it a much less intimidating place.

Mello was happy to demonstrate this particular tip. 😹 Apparently her carrier is less “emergency transportation” and more “personal playground.”

Another lovely client review that means so much to me. 💙

One of my favourite parts of being a cat sitter is getting to know each cat as an individual — their routines, quirks, favourite games, comfort levels and all those little things that make them them.

With repeat clients, those relationships only get better. The cats become more familiar with me, I become more familiar with them, and their families can head away knowing their fur babies are being cared for by someone who already knows their routine.

Cat sitting is so much more than putting down food and scooping a litter box. It’s attentive care, enrichment, companionship, affection and making sure each cat gets the kind of visit that suits their own purrrsonality.

I’m very grateful for clients who take the time to share their experiences — and for the wonderful kitties who make this such enjoyable work.

This might be the cutest college in Canada. 🐱

The Langley Animal Protection Society is launching what it calls Canada’s first National Kitten College, offering free training on how to care for vulnerable neonatal and orphaned kittens.

The goal is to recruit more foster caregivers and give people the confidence and skills to help kittens without their mothers.

There’s a lot more to a 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝘁-𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 than simply filling the food bowls.

Every visit is tailored to the cats in my care and their individual routines — from 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, to grooming, enrichment, playtime and plenty of affection.

One of my favourite parts is getting to know each cat’s unique 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 and building the trust that leads to special moments like these.

🍲 Wet food is delicious... but it doesn't stay fresh for long!

Ideally, wet food shouldn't be left out for more than 2 hours to help keep it fresh and reduce bacterial growth.

🐾 Meet my clients... Chiqui, Maurizio, Christopher & Renato! 💙

One of my favourite parts of being a professional pet sitter is getting to know each cat's unique purrrsonality.

Chiqui prefers to observe the world from the comfort of her favourite hiding spots, while Maurizio, Christopher and Renato are always happy to come out for cuddles, playtime and plenty of attention. Spending time with this wonderful foursome is always a highlight of my day, and I look forward to every visit.
