It is with a heavy heart that we had say goodbye to Max. Max was a beloved and adored cat adopted by one of our veterinary staffs. Known for his gentle spirit and his resilience, Max was recently diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Despite our best efforts, the disease progressed rapidly, and time was, unfortunately, not on our side.
Oral SCC is an aggressive cancer that is unfortunately difficult to treat. While treatment options like surgery or radiation can help in certain cases, this type of cancer is often diagnosed in advanced stages, making it challenging to manage. Max’s journey has reminded us of the importance of regular check-ups and early detection in ensuring the best care for our furry friends.
Max, you have shown me how to live your life to the fullest despite life’s challenge. Seizures, FHO, and Oral SCC, none has stopped you from sleeping in the weirdest place! You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
To those who have loved and lost, know you are not alone.
