Our hearts are with everyone affected by the devastating fire in New Westminster.
As a local, family-owned veterinary hospital, we are heartbroken by what so many families are experiencing. We know this has been an incredibly difficult time, and our thoughts are with everyone who has lost their homes, belongings, and keepsakes.
We know that Pinecrest Manor was home to many beloved cats and other pets, making this loss especially heartbreaking for so many members of our community.
We've donated to the community GoFundMe supporting those affected by the fire. If you'd like to help, you can donate here: https://gofund.me/a18e3b44e.
The GoFundMe page also has more information on how you can directly support those affected, including the incredible work being coordinated through Century House, which has been helping organize support for displaced residents. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.
To help in another way, we have set aside pet food and essential supplies that are available free of charge for anyone affected by the fire. If you or your pets have been impacted, please don't hesitate to stop by or reach out to us. We're here to help however we can.
If there is any unused food or supplies remaining after we've supported those in need, they will be donated to the New Westminster Animal Shelter so they can continue helping local animals.
If you know someone who has been affected, please share this post with them so they know support is available.
We love this community, and seeing our neighbours come together during such a difficult time reminds us of how strong New Westminster truly is. Please know that you are not alone. We are here for you, your family, and your pets in any way possible.
With love,
Columbia Square Animal Hospital
