We have a spot available in Saturday's Group Walk & Train session!

Saturday, June 13 at 9:30am in East Van (Fraser and 33rd area).
$35 + GST.

Participants need to have foundation skills in reactivity and supporting behavior on-leash. Anyone who has completed a training session with us, or has attended our Sunday drop-in, is eligible.

If you have completed training with another local positive reinforcement trainer, feel free to get in touch.

🦄 Unicorn alert!! 🦄

Beckham is currently at the Vancouver shelter, and one of their amazing volunteers brought him out to East Van Training Club on Sunday.

Can we just....wow!! He was doing laps and parallel walking like a pro. Skills that, for many pet dogs in homes, take a while to master. For a shelter boy on his first field trip, it was darned impressive.

He was calm and steady, curious about other dogs but not fixated or hyper. The shelter says he is mellow and friendly, a good walker, and is compatible with dogs and cats.

You can find his info by searching "City of Vancouver Animal Services" on Petfinder. The Vancouver shelter has some really nice dogs right now - please share and support our local adoptables. 💗

Chamomile is a sweet and sensitive girl who just lost her big sister. 💔 Oolong helped her be brave outside, without the older lady's presence this week, we noticed that Chamomile seemed nervous and reluctant on her walks.

We decided to bring PJ along to be her emotional support dog and it worked beautifully!

Oolong to PJ: "I like the way you roll!"

Every dog is an individual and every walk is different - sometimes we need to think outside the box when a client is having a rough day.

Introducing our Group Walk & Train programs for June!

EAST VANCOUVER
Wednesday, June 3 – 6pm
Saturday, June 13 – 9:30am
Wednesday, June 17 – 6pm
Saturday, June 27 – 9:30am

NEW WEST
Wednesday, June 10 – 6pm
Wednesday, June 24 – 6pm

These are one-hour small group sessions where you can practice working around other dogs in real-life scenarios with coaching from an on-site trainer.

This group is ideal for those who have solid foundation skills in managing reactive behaviour and are ready to move to the next level. It is designed for training/walking clients of Bronte Pet Services, or those who have attended our Sunday drop-ins (we need to have assessed your dog in order to ensure well-matched groups!).

$35 + GST for Vancouver sessions with Shelley
$25 + GST for New West sessions with April

This is lovely Kane, currently adoptable through .society

Kane likes other dogs but can be excitable and reactive on leash when she sees them. Her dedicated foster mom brought her to East Van Training Club for some management tips...we started out slow, looking at dogs from a distance, but before we knew it we were parallel walking with our friend Blue!

Kane is such a sweet girl who loves to engage and work with her person. She's very smart and an easy keeper in the house with no separation anxiety. If you are looking for a best friend who will love you with her whole heart, don't sleep on Kane. 💞

It's a GO for Saturday!

Shelley will be leading small groups (4 - 6 people) through some real-world scenarios, practicing calm behaviour on leash.

This session is suitable for individuals who have a strong foundation in calm leash skills, counter conditioning, and practicing neutrality around other dogs. If you have been coming to our Sunday drop-ins and doing well, this is a great way to take your training to the next level.

Email [email protected] and indicate whether you prefer the 9:30 or 10:45 sessions (there is more space in the later session)

Hi all, I'm thinking about starting some small group sessions focused on:
Parallel walks
Reactive dog skill drills
Real-world practice around other dogs
Building confidence and handler skills in a controlled environment
These would be geared toward reactive, nervous, or easily overstimulated dogs and would keep groups small for safety and success. 4-6 dogs. $35 per session
