With Labour Day slowly approaching, please plan ahead for the holiday weekend! Thursday September 3rd is the last day to place food and medication orders before the long weekend (this does not apply to special order medications). We will be open:

September 4: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

September 6: CLOSED

⭐️ Patient of the Month ⭐

We visited Ms. Molly and she enjoyed a peaceful post-sedation nap after a busy but important visit. She had her annual dental cleaning and vaccines, and we also started medication to help manage her arthritis and keep her comfortable and moving well at home. Great job, Molly—you were so brave throughout your visit!

Why did the cow step into the shade? Because the steaks were too high in the sun!

Jokes aside, heat stress in cattle is no laughing matter. A cow's comfort zone is approximately 5°C–20°C, so hot summer days can take a real toll. Help keep your herd cool by:

💧 Providing plenty of clean water
🌳 Offering shade or sprinklers
💨 Ensuring good ventilation
🚜 Limiting handling during the hottest part of the day

Watch for signs like reduced feed intake, lower rumination or milk production, and increased breathing rates or resting times. A little extra care can go a long way in keeping your cattle healthy this summer!
