Naafiri Boxers

09/27/2026

What a busy weekend! Friday we went to Grassie to compete in the Burlington Kennel & Obedience Club under Judge Cheryl Paterson. Naafiri got non-competitive 1st in her class, Winners and BOS. We stayed to watch the Working Group and chat with lovely people!
Today was an eventful day at the Poodle Farm for Naafiri's first CKC Scent Detection trials! A location mishap led to us not having time to warm up before the morning runs, and we may have came in with a touch too much energy (Naafiri) and anxiety (me). Then we both calmed down with a nice walk by the cornfields and came back to ace the Exterior run (she is allowed 4 min but needed less than 2)! She was so certain about the scent she just put her chin directly on it and stared at me until I called it. Proud of babygirl and glad we got to walk away with at least one ribbon today! We will move up to CKC Open Exteriors, and retry CKC Novice Containers & Interior in October.

Girlypop still in show mode... hopefully she'll replicate these lovely free stacks in the show ring.

Still awaiting her official photo and more ringside photos, but here are the first few from the Boxer Club of Western Ontario Specialty Show Day yesterday. Thank you to esteemed judge Nikki Riggsbee from Florida for awarding her a competitive Reserve Winners Bitch in the Specialty. And another very cool and competitive Reserve Winners Bitch was awarded to Naafiri later in the day by well-known Westminster Commentator Judge Jason Hoke. Naafiri showed beautifully I am very proud of her. Thank you to the BCWO show chair Laurie Minielly, and everyone involved for a lovely show day.

Whew what a busy month it has been! Not to worry Naafiri still went on lots of adventures, her first Scent trial, a dog show, and we are still practicing for conformation and scent detection. Yesterday we visited Canatara park and she got lots of love and smelled lots of smells.
