Endometritis can present a reproductive management challenge, particularly in mares that have difficulty clearing inflammation, fluid and bacteria from the uterus. This is not a condition you can see when looking at a mare, but it can be a significant barrier to successful reproduction.

Veterinarians may consider multiple factors when evaluating a susceptible mare.

Settle® is an MCWF immunostimulant approved as an aid in the treatment of equine endometritis caused by Streptococcus zooepidemicus, providing veterinarians with an immunotherapeutic option for managing affected mares.

Sarcoid response to treatment isn’t always immediate — and continued evaluation is an important part of the treatment process.

In a study evaluating Immunocidin® Equine, 73% of treated sarcoids achieved complete regression, while 27% showed partial regression. Among responding horses, 94% remained tumor-free at the two-year follow-up.

These results help provide veterinarians with additional information when considering immunotherapy as part of their approach to equine sarcoids.

Immunocidin® Equine is regulator-approved in the USA and Canada for the intratumoral treatment of sarcoids.

Fall competition schedules can mean increased travel, changing environments and greater contact with other horses.

For veterinarians managing horses through periods of increased exposure, ensuring an effective immune response is an important consideration.

Equimune® is an MCWF-based immunotherapeutic that works by stimulating antigen-presenting cells and enhancing production of Interleukin 1 (IL-1), helping amplify immune responses to antigens.

What happens after Equimune® is injected in your horse?

Its active ingredient stimulates antigen-presenting cells and enhances production of Interleukin 1 (IL-1), helping amplify immune responses to antigens.

This includes both cell-mediated immunity and humoral antibody responses — two important components of the horse’s immune response.

Understanding the mechanism behind an immunotherapeutic can help veterinarians determine when and how it may fit into an individual patient’s treatment strategy.

Not every mare responds to breeding-related inflammation in the same way.

Following breeding, a normal immune response helps clear the uterus. In some
mares, however, inflammation can persist, contributing to an environment that may
interfere with reproductive success.

These mares may require additional evaluation and management to address the
factors contributing to delayed uterine clearance.

Settle® is an MCWF immunostimulant approved as an aid in the treatment of equine
endometritis (inflammation), providing veterinarians with an option for affected
mares.

Endometritis can be an important consideration in reproductive management, particularly for mares that have difficulty clearing inflammation, fluid and bacteria from the uterus.

Following breeding, veterinarians may evaluate factors such as uterine fluid retention, inflammation and the presence of bacteria when determining the appropriate approach for an individual mare.

Settle® is an MCWF immunostimulant approved as an aid in the treatment of equine endometritis caused by Streptococcus zooepidemicus, providing veterinarians with an immunotherapeutic option for managing affected mares.

Grooming is about more than a clean coat. Regular hands-on grooming gives owners, trainers and veterinary teams an opportunity to notice new or changing skin lesions, including sarcoids.

Immunocidin® Equine is approved in the U.S. and Canada for the intratumoral treatment of sarcoid tumors in horses.

If you notice a new mass, bump or skin change, talk with your veterinarian about an appropriate evaluation and treatment plan.

Equimune® works by stimulating the horse’s immune response because its active ingredient stimulates antigen presenting cells and enhances
production of Interleukin 1 (IL 1), which helps amplify immune responses to antigens. This includes both cell mediated immunity and humoral antibody responses.

For veterinarians, understanding the mechanism behind an immunotherapeutic can help inform when and how it fits into a treatment strategy.

In mares susceptible to persistent breeding-induced endometritis, there’s more to consider than the presence of bacteria.

Research involving Settle® has explored the uterine inflammatory response, including pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokine production, post-breeding fluid retention, PMN infiltration and bacterial infiltration.

Settle® is an immunotherapeutic approved as an aid in the treatment of equine endometritis caused by Streptococcus zooepidemicus.
