Nanaimo Animal Control is happy to report that power has now been restored to our facility. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we waited for the outage to be resolved.

Our staff are back up and running and available to assist as usual. 🐾

🚨 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT—POWER OUTAGE 🚨

Nanaimo Animal Control is currently experiencing a power outage at our facility due to a tree on the line.

Our staff are onsite and available to assist, but we are currently without power in the building. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while we wait for power to be restored.

🩵💚 SKY & FOREST ARE LOOKING FOR THEIR FOREVER HOME! 🐦🐦

Meet Sky and Forest, our two sweet budgies who are now ready to find a loving forever home either together or apart! 💕

These two are looking for someone who is knowledgeable and experienced with budgies and understands that earning their trust will take time, patience and plenty of gentle interaction.

Sky and Forest are still hand-shy and are not yet comfortable being handled. They will need an adopter who is willing to let them move at their own pace, build their confidence and show them that humans can be trusted. With patience, consistency and lots of positive attention, we hope they will continue to blossom in their new home. 🥰

They would make a wonderful addition to a home where someone truly understands budgies and is excited to work on building a relationship with them rather than expecting them to be instantly tame.

🩵 Experienced/knowledgeable budgie home preferred
🩵 Patient, gentle handling and interaction required
🩵 Still hand-shy and working on trusting people
🩵 Looking for a safe, loving and committed forever home
