We have exciting news!!
We want to express just how grateful we are to be a part of such an incredible community here in Nanaimo. We truly feel we have the best clients and patients - who make our roles at Nanaimo Veterinary Hospital incredibly rewarding.
As a 'thank-you!' to our phenomenal clientele, we are offering a rewards program called 'Paw Perks' - where every dollar spent earns you 'Paw Points' which can be redeemed for monetary rebates at future appointments.
Just download the Petdesk App and enroll under 'loyalty.'
Feel free to reach out to any of our team members with any questions!

Pictured here are two Chihuahua X puppies, who were in for their first set of vaccines. Thank you for letting us take care of your sweet pups!

Toe beans! Toe beans! Glorious toe beans! Aren't they just the cutest 😍 Did you know that one of the best things you can do for your pet is keep the hair in between their toes neat and tidy? It helps to prevent slips and falls, irritating moisture build-up and, bits of nature from getting stuck in there. If their paws are looking swollen, red or irritated it's a good idea to visit our website and book an appointment!

🌸Poor little Cherry had a little too much fun camping and tore her nail... but she and Maya became the best of friends while Myrica placed a bandage on her sore little foot. It took a lot of convincing to get her out of Maya's lap - she was really soaking up all the attention! This is what all of us here at Nanaimo Vet live for - spending time with your pets and making them feel better. We strive to make every pet feel as safe and comfy as Cherry by trying to use fear-free techniques, treats, and gentle handling whenever we can. 🌸

In honor of National Truth and Reconciliation Day, we thought we would share a bit of interesting Indigenous history and put a spotlight on the Salish Woolly Dog - a small, fluffy white dog whose hair was used to create beautiful textiles by Indigenous peoples in the Pacific Northwest. We acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional lands of the Snuneymuxw First Nation and we celebrate the beauty and history of this wonderful place we call home🌲🌊.

Anyone else in disbelief that today is the last day of summer?! 😭
While many of our team members are welcoming the change in weather - a few of us are holding onto flashbacks of summer activities!
8 month old Lumi belongs to our Administrative Manager Kim, and spent the summer learning how to paddle board!
Share your summer memories with us, and we'll welcome autumn tomorrow! 🍂
