15 surgeries, one unforgettable mission, and the power of compassionate vet care in action! That's !

Through the Mars, Incorporated Ambassador Program (MAP), our Associates have the incredible opportunity to share their skills, support partner organizations, and drive positive change worldwide.

One of our own from VCA Canada Cats Only Animal Hospital recently returned from an unforgettable assignment in India working alongside Humane World for Animals and their mobile clinic team.

The true highlight of Katy's journey came on a day they completed around 15 sterilizations. She recalls standing alongside the local veterinary team, tired but energized, and it hit home just how lasting and profound this work is for the local community and the health of these animals.

"Being part of a team working shoulder to shoulder toward such a vital mission was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

And of course, getting to end each full day by exploring the incredible, vibrant flavours of authentic Indian food was the perfect bonus to an unforgettable assignment.

I’m returning home inspired, grateful, and prouder than ever to be part of a community that champions a better world for pets everywhere." 🌍✨

Katy, we are endlessly grateful for your dedication, your compassion, and the incredible energy you bring to everything you do, whether across the globe in Hubli-Dharwad or right here with us every day. Thank you for representing our values with such heart and purpose. We are so proud of the lasting impact you’ve made, and we’re even happier to have you back home with the Cats Only team! 💙

The Support Office in Calgary recently had the ulti-mutt honor of being a designated stop for ARF Alberta - Animal Rescue Foundation program, hosted alongside our wonderful visiting Mars, Incorporated Ambassadors.

Programs like this give rescue dogs a fun break from the shelter, lots of social time, and the spotlight they deserve while waiting for their forever families.💙

If your pup had a job at your office, what title would they have? (Chief Napping Officer? Head of Treat Inspection?)

📤 Share & Save this reel to help spread love for shelter pups everywhere! Let's find these girls a home!

Caring for your cat or dog shouldn't come with "exam-fee anxiety." That’s why we’ve completely refreshed VCA Canada CareClub® wellness plans.

🐾 We've got two clear ways to help plan your pet's wellness needs 🐾

🔹 CareClub® : Your baseline wellness coverage. This plan includes unlimited covered exam fees* (seriously, unlimited fee coverage for regular wellness, sick, recheck, emergency, urgent care), professional microchipping, and member exclusives on food and retail all for one small, flat monthly rate and no enrollment fee.

🔹 CareClub® : These plans also include unlimited exam fee coverage but are fully tailored to both you and your cat or dog, taking into account factors such as age, breed, location, lifestyle, and activities. Easily bundle routine vaccines and life-stage diagnostics, such as bloodwork and parasite screening into predictable monthly installments. With a Paws Plan you can also add-on other services based on your cat or dog's specific needs.

No matter what plan you go with, every single CareClub® membership unlocks:

🩺 $0 Exam Fees!* 100% unlimited exam fee coverage for wellness checks, sick visits, rechecks, and urgent concerns. (Note: Any treatments, medications, or diagnostic tests run during an Access Plan visit are separate).

Taking and compassionate care 12,000 km across the globe. 🌍🚐

On any typical week, you’ll find Veterinarian Dr. Charles Carrier in the clinic at Vet et Nous diagnosing complex cases, while Katy Lyons balances her days as both a Registered Veterinary Technician and Hospital Manager at our very own VCA Canada Cats Only Animal Hospital. But this month, their routines are shifting across the world.

Through the Mars, Incorporated Ambassador Program (MAP), the two are packing their bags and heading to Hubli-Dharwad, India, to lend their hands to a different kind of community care.

From September 7–16, Charles and Katy are teaming up with Humane World for Animals. They’ll be stepping out of traditional hospital settings and onto the front lines of a mobile animal clinic, providing field-based treatment, essential vaccinations, and preventive healthcare directly to rural and underserved communities.

Between Charles’ clinical diagnostic experience and Katy’s dual perspective as a technician and hospital leader, they bring a comprehensive skill set to this mission. Stepping into mobile fieldwork allows them to translate those high-level hospital standards into high-impact community care and deliver vital treatments in resource-limited environments and empowering local volunteers with sustainable animal healthcare practices.

Their commitment to sharing knowledge, supporting local caregivers, and advocating for vulnerable animals reflects the very best of our veterinary community. 💙

💬 Please join us in sending safe travels and warm wishes to Charles and Katy as they prepare for this incredible journey! Stay tuned right here for photos and stories from the field.

This , we are reminded that being prepared is one of the most important things we can do. And as Canada faces more frequent emergencies like wildfires and floods, our pets must be part of that plan.

That is why we are proud to reaffirm our commitment, alongside Humane Canada, Mars, and Royal Canin, to Canada’s National Animal Emergency Response Network. This program is dedicated to strengthening readiness, providing training, and ensuring animals are included in emergency planning nationwide.

🐾 Meet of Vet et Nous | Christine: A Journey of Openness & Acceptance 🐾

"Growing up, I was often judged. Animals, though, were always a refuge. They don’t judge. You can just be." 💙

Meet Christine, an outstanding Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) at l'Ormière whose journey is a beautiful testament to resilience, passion, and the power of a supportive workplace.

Entering clinical practice 15 years ago—when autism (ASD) was poorly understood—was incredibly difficult. After facing post-traumatic stress and questioning her path, Christine’s love for animals brought her back. She joined the team at l’Ormière and laid her cards on the table from day one:

"I told the team: 'I’m autistic. If something comes up, please come see me. You have to tell me.' Communication makes all the difference."

With that open communication, Christine has truly found her fit and flourished. Today, she is the clinic's "encyclopedia" (colleagues always turn to her above-average memory!) and her deep empathy makes her incredibly gifted at supporting pet parents through delicate, emotional moments.

We aren't the only ones inspired by her. The Ordre des médecins vétérinaires du Québec (OMVQ) was so moved by Christine's journey that they created a unique, dedicated RVT Excellence Award, "Coup de Cœur" Mention specifically to honour her story! 🏆

At home, she’s happily cuddled up with her two 15-year-old rescue cats, Acadie and Nami. 🐱🐱

"After a very difficult start, it was at l’Ormière that I rebuilt myself, and my confidence... I think we can all be a little more tolerant. Not just for autism, but for everything. Just a little more patience and respect." 💙
