🐑 A little sheep reproduction education with the next generation of vets!

We had the pleasure of hosting students from the WCVM Production Animal Club to get some hands-on experience with laparoscopic artificial insemination in sheep!

It was a great opportunity for students to get out of the classroom and see the procedure firsthand, learn more about sheep reproduction, and get a taste of the hands-on side of production animal veterinary medicine.

We’re always happy to have students out with us and share a little bit of what we do in the field!

Thanks for spending the day with us, WCVM Production Animal Club! 🐑🤠

Happy Veterinarian Appreciation Day!

Today we want to recognize and celebrate the incredible veterinarians who make our practice what it is.

Dr. Chad has dedicated years to serving producers and caring for their animals, carrying the demands of a busy large animal practice on his own. His knowledge, work ethic, and commitment to his clients are second to none. Whether it’s a routine herd visit, an emergency call in the middle of the night, or simply taking the time to answer questions, he goes above and beyond to ensure both animals and their owners receive the best care possible. His dedication to keeping clients happy, supported, and well cared for has built the strong relationships and trust that our practice is known for today.

We’re also excited to recognize Dr. Krysta, who recently joined our team. Although she’s new to the practice, she has already brought enthusiasm, compassion, and a strong commitment to animal care. We’re grateful to have her on board and look forward to seeing the positive impact she’ll continue to make for our clients and their animals.

Thank you, Dr. Chad and Dr. Krysta, for your hard work, dedication, and passion for veterinary medicine. We appreciate all that you do every day! 🐄🐎🐑❤️

Happy Birthday to Dr. Krysta! 🎉

We’re also celebrating her first 2 weeks with Paetsch Vet Services. In just a short time, she’s already been busy doing bull semen testing, performing C-sections, and jumping right into the hectic life of large animal practice.

Nothing says “welcome to the team” quite like getting thrown straight into calving season! 🔥🐄

🐄 CALVING SEASON READY? PVS is ready to give you a hand! 🐄

When things don’t go exactly as planned, having a clear game plan can make all the difference. This handy calving decision guide is designed to help you quickly assess what’s normal, what’s not, and when it’s time to step in.

Quick reminders:
• Stage 1 can take a few hours—be patient
• Once feet are out, expect progress within 30–60 minutes
• No progress or something off? Time to reassess

Keep this chart somewhere accessible in the barn or truck so you can refer to it when it matters most. Every calving is a little different, and early intervention can make a huge difference in outcomes for both cow and calf.

📞 We’re here to help keep your calving season running as smoothly as possible!
