Heidi Peddle is a CPDT-KA certified dog trainer and the founder of Liv Better Dog Training. She has been working in the industry since 2011 and has had the pleasure of training dogs of all ages, breeds, temperaments and skill levels. Liv Better Dog Training uses science based, positive reinforcement training methods and does not permit the use of aversive tools or techniques in any of our programs

. This means we focus on rewarding things we'd to see repeated while reducing unwanted behaviors through prevention and management. We do not use confrontational training techniques, such as verbal or physical corrections and we do not use tools like choke chains, prong collars, or ecollars. Say hello to our newest Middle School Mutts students, Orbit, Juniper, Gibson, Beau, Milo, and Finley! 👋They are so, so smart, very sweet, and just silly enough to keep things interesting. They are so much fun and I'm already having a blast helping them work through their training challenges! 💚💙💜

🎉 Registration is now open for our Puppy Preschool class set to start JULY 22nd at 6:30pm 🎉 **Please note, all of our June preschool classes are currently full**

Our Puppy Preschool Program is designed for kiddos under 18 weeks of age. We require all dogs in our group programs to have at least one round of vaccines and a dewormer prior to starting.

This program covers essential skills like safe socialization, confidence building, body awareness, handling, soft mouth exercises, and more! The skills are fun to learn and easy to implement. The program will benefit puppy parents who want to promote positive interactions with people and other dogs, curb naughty behaviours like excessive nipping, chewing on furniture, stealing food, trash, clothing, etc. Puppy Preschool is jam-packed with information and includes weekly handouts to help keep the whole family accountable week to week with the homework. Class sizes are small, and we always have a training assistant present to ensure you're getting the most out of class time.

Classes are the same time every week for 6 weeks. Classes are held at our training facility located at 124 Glencoe Drive, Mount Pearl. If you're interested in joining us for a super fun 6 weeks of learning, please email us [email protected] to register!

Please note that Liv Better Dog Training follows the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behaviours stance on dog training and uses positive reinforcement training methods. We do not permit the use of aversive tools or techniques in any of our programs. This means we focus on rewarding positive, desired behavior while reducing unwanted behaviors through prevention and management. We do not use confrontational training techniques, such as verbal or physical correction, and we do not use tools like choke chains, prong collars, or ecollars. You will need lots of treats and a properly fitted harness. If you are not committed to a positive approach to training your dog, then we will not be a good fit for your needs. Please consider this before signing up to train with us.

Happy Saturday from these perfect little creatures! The sweet, sweet kiddos of our Wednesday evening Puppy Preschool Program graduated this week! Registration is open for Middle School Academics Club! This is a drop-in class designed for students who are currently enrolled in or have already completed our Middle School Mutts program! Academics Club gives students the opportunity for more practice in a group environment to fine-tune skills and increase reliability! We love this class because we get to catch up with some clients we haven't seen in a while, and our current students can make up any missed lessons or squeeze in extra practice as needed! Scheduled for Thursday, June 18th at 6:30pm

We have some Middle School Mutts graduates to celebrate!!!! 🎓🤓📚 Sending the biggest congratulations to Dug, Summit, Maverick, Sadie, Millie, Rudy, and Winnie!! It's always bitter sweet to say, "See ya later," but I'm extra grateful for the fun we've had and the new friendships we've made! We are SO proud of each of you for working so hard and and making so much progress! Keep it up, my buddies, and stay in touch! 💚💙💜

🎉 Registration is now open for our Middle School Mutts class set to start on Wednesday, July 8th at 5:30pm

Our Middle School Mutts program is designed for furry kiddos 4 months and older. We introduce many practical skills like loose leash walking, reliable recalls, place, leave it, drop it, and more! Skills are easy and fun to learn and will help curb common training concerns like excited greetings, pulling on leash, pestering guests, counter surfing, stealing things, destructive behaviours, bolting through doors, running away, etc. 

Classes are the same time every week for 6 weeks. Classes are held at our training facility located at 124 Glencoe Drive, Mount Pearl. If you're interested in joining us for a super fun 6 weeks of learning, please email us [email protected] to register!

**Please note that this program is not suitable for reactive dogs** If you're unsure if this program is the right fit, please ask, and we can set up a free assessment to ensure you're getting the best bang for your buck. We LOVE our reactive dog friends and have programs available for them, but they don't benefit from this particular class, and we want all our students to and thrive during and after training!
