I love shaping puppies into good groom participants. However grooming them is not my favourite because the finnish is never what I want it to be or I think the bouncy baby is even but then i see a chunk that def needed tweaking.

His and her pups from the same house hold got very diffrent cuts. The boy got his first big boy hair cut. Short body flared legs with a cute tight head. And the girl got shaping and her belly/sani shaved.
If you cant tell they have very diffrent lifestyles even living in the same home. We create looks to fit not only your life style but your furry friends personality.

Can we talk about the whole “cats groom themselves” thing for a minute 😂

Because technically… they lick themselves. That’s not quite the same thing.

I see so many cats coming through the salon that are absolutely loved and well cared for, but their owners genuinely didn’t realise how much coat was sitting underneath, or that the little tangle they felt had actually turned into a much bigger problem.

All because people keep telling them ‘ CATS DONT NEED GROOMED CATS GROOM THEMSELVES ‘ 🫠

This myth is what caused your cat to become matted and need a lion cut 🙈

‼️Guys. Share this far and wide with your aunt , with your uncle with neighbour lizzy down the street .. cats only LICK themselves .. the top layer of coat . They don’t have combs in their mouths , they can’t throughly comb out tangles and dead coat with their tongues ‼️‼️

And honestly, I think that’s where we need more education around cat grooming.

Professional grooming doesn’t have to start when a cat is already badly matted. Regular grooming can be about preventing it getting to that stage in the first place, getting dead coat out, keeping on top of greasy areas, nails, little tangles and generally keeping the coat manageable.

I’d love to see cat grooming become as normal as dog grooming is.

🔥 I DID A THING. 🔥

I’ve been sitting on this one for a little while because I honestly wasn’t sure what to say…

But I think it’s time I finally share it. 🥹🐈‍⬛

I competed at MASTERGROOM CANADA 2026 in both the Cat Lion Cut and Creative Cat Grooming classes — and walked away with 🥉 3RD PLACE IN BOTH!
Was I nervous? Absolutely. Did I question myself? More than once. Did I show up anyway and put my work on the table?

100%.

This was my first time stepping into the competition world, and it pushed me WAY outside my comfort zone. I learned more than I could have imagined, got to watch some incredibly talented groomers, and got to see exactly where I stand — and where I can go from here.
And honestly?
I’m damn proud of these ribbons. 🥉🥉
Not because they mean I’m finished learning. Quite the opposite.
They showed me that I belong in that ring.
3rd place twice this time.
Next time, I’m coming for 1st. 🏆
A huge thank you to everyone who supported me, encouraged me, helped me prepare, or cheered me on along the way. ❤️
Mastergroom Canada was an amazing place and space to try this new path and Jackie Halina Cmcgc Icats is an amazing person who supported every groomer there and is the reason this competition happened.
And of course, none of this would have happened without my gorgeous competition kitty. 🐱👑 Huge shout out to my client who trusted me with her kitty. It means so much!
Country Cats Grooming isn’t done yet.

Client call! I am accepting new clients, cats or dogs. I have a small, one-on-one grooming salon with 13 years of experience, specializing in cat grooms, from lion cuts to baths and desheds. I also specialize in behavioral grooming, whether it's sedated grooms or retraining dogs that have had difficulties with the grooming process.

Manic monday.

This girl just comes in to get her matts zipped out her nails done and a quick combing and we still managed to get out all this dead hair. Can you imagine how much shed loose with a full bath?
