📢 English explanation

When Noah would walk, he kept his head up, checking in all the time instead of enjoying his walk. Too much is like not enough, so here I'm clicking for him looking forward and, of course, paying him for it.

📢 English explanation

Here’s a glimpse into Anna the puppy’s first desensitization session with an umbrella 😍🥰
Yes, yes, I know what I look like, but it’s for a good cause 😅🤣🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Before filming this stage of the desensitization process, we had started with:
1) Look at the closed umbrella / reward (R)
2) Move toward the closed umbrella (R)
3) Touch the closed umbrella (R)
4) Repeat steps 1 to 3 with the umbrella unfastened
5) Lift the unfastened umbrella slightly (R)
6) Lift the unfastened umbrella all the way up (R)
7) Shake the umbrella (R)
8) I stood up and slowly opened the5 umbrella completely, but that was too much for Anna. In a situation like this, we make the exercise easier for the dog, so I lowered myself closer to the ground.

9) Here is the video.

The last two times I opened the umbrella, Anna moved behind her human’s legs, which is why you can no longer see her at the end. We then did two repetitions where her human rewarded Anna for looking at the open umbrella from a distance, and we ended the session.

Until Anna is comfortable with this final step, we will not move on to the next steps.

📣 Desensitizing your puppy to everything they may encounter in their environment is one of the most important parts of puppy socialization. 📣

📢 English will follow

Leash walking isn't easy—for either an adolescent dog or their human! 🐶🤦🏼‍♀️😅

At one point in this video, you'll notice my client puts tension on the leash (it's too short and too tight). Koda starts to slow down and eventually stops.
In this situation, he's not being stubborn. He's simply responding to the pressure. When there's too much tension on the leash, dogs naturally tend to pull or brace in the opposite direction.

So my client loosens the leash and asks Koda for a "touch" (targeting her hand). This encourages him to move forward again, allowing them to continue their walk together. 😊👏🥳
