A couple who have devoted their lives to cat rescue found this boy in rough shape in Cornwall, Ontario. They brought him to their cat sanctuary and found him a forever home shortly after.

This is the cat who introduced me to cat rescue.

She was part of a colony of cats freezing in the winter cold in my moms back yard. They sought shelter under the porch and barely had contact with humans. My mom fed them until they could be trapped.

We called an animal rescue for help and that was the first time I met a trapper. She caught this beauty and asked if I wanted to keep her. I had no idea what a feral cat was but I accepted. It took 9 months of socializing her before she allowed me to even touch her.

Over the next 4 years we built an incredible bond filled with love and trust for one another all while managing the unending expensive vet visits from complications of FIV. It was difficult to witness her fight illness after illness but we got through it together with daily medications and specialized food. On January 16 2024 we lost the fight. I miss her so very much.

She set me on the path to cat rescue, and because of her many others have been saved. I'm thankful for the time we had together and hope for a time when we may be reunited.

He was waiting in his usual spot and was happy when the food arrived.

Thank you to our volunteers and to all of our supporters ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
