Why we DON'T recommend dog parks for puppy socialization.

One of the biggest myths in dog training is that "socialization" means letting your puppy meet as many dogs as possible.

It doesn't.

True socialization is teaching your puppy to stay calm, confident, and neutral around the world, not to think every dog is there to play.

Dog parks can create more problems than they solve:
• Unknown dogs with unknown temperaments.
• Bad experiences during a critical developmental period.
• Bullying, fear, or even injuries.
• Puppies learning to ignore their owner in favor of other dogs.
• Overexcitement and frustration that can later turn into leash reactivity.

The best socialization happens in controlled environments where your puppy can observe, learn, and build confidence without being overwhelmed.

Quality over quantity. Calm over chaos.

At LFK9 Dog Training Excellence, we don't just socialize puppies, we teach them how to exist confidently in the real world.

Fun Fact:
Despite their name, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers don't retrieve ducks right away—they first lure them in! Their playful movements along the shoreline attract curious ducks, bringing them within range before the dog is sent to retrieve. They're the only breed specifically developed for this unique hunting technique, called "tolling."

Absolutely love working with this little one! Vesna has such a big potential 🧡

From being dumped at a shelter by a puppy mill... To finding an incredible family. To graduating LFK9 Basic Obedience+. To becoming the confident, happy young dog he was always meant to be.

Training gave Pinto the confidence to be a dog, not a scared little thing that would flop on his back and play dead when people were approaching.

This is what happens when love, patience, and the right training come together.

BREAKING NEWS:
If your trainer relies on fear or pain to get results...
Find a new trainer.

Your dog deserves to learn because they understand what you're asking, not because they're afraid of the consequences.

And while we're at it...
At LFK9, our methods are backed by science, built on trust, and most importantly... they actually work.

On that, feel free to book your free phone evaluation! ☺️

READ THIS IF YOU HAVE A PUPPY ⬇️

JAZZ - BASIC OBEDIENCE+ GRADUATE 🏆

At only 3 months, Jazz graduated from his BASIC OBEDIENCE+ program. We started working at the young age of 8 weeks. Some people might say " oh no but that's too young " or " he should have only done kindergarten stuff ".

Nope, Jazz was willing to work and learn. We adjust the course to every single dog we see, making it age appropriate.

Now guess what ? Jazz knows all of his basic commands, is neutral to most stimuli, is extremely social and we've done everything to prevent behavior problems. His parents offered him the best gift they could: future freedom! He's going to grow into a well balanced, socialized and neutral adult dog you can bring with you everywhere!

Can't wait to see him progressing as he's about to start the INTERMEDIARY OBEDIENCE+ program!
