I think I broke Blaze, our (Now Ready for Adoption) Patterdale Terrier Foster pup...
He has pretty much NONE of these Breed traits left...
(see below)
#01: Solved with a Pack of Fosters (and more specifically, an Australian Shepherd), and regular 60 minutes / 10K jogs.
#02: Solved with recall Training
#03: Mitigated with time (he finally aged out of the teenage "Velociraptor" stage) and crate training
#04: Solved by being more stubborn than he was (the upside of being part Irish and part Native...🤣)
#05: Solved by Crate Training. He just curls up in his bed and sleeps
#06: Solved (mostly) by Recall Training him and the rest of the Foster Pack, and training him to sit/stay until the visitor calls him over.
#07: Solved by exposure. He is the most "Social Butterfly Cruise Director" of the whole Foster Pack. He is ALWAYS the 1st one to go Meet & Greet any new visitor with a wagging tail
#08: So Far So good. fully vetted with no precursor signs of any of those, 😁, but he did have to have his floating double dew claws removed after tearing one of them partially off, and then needed additional surgeries when he proceeded to rip his stitches 3 times 🤦♂....
#09: Solved... except for the fact the he LOVES water, water puddles, and MUD puddles...
#10: Solved: I'll always look forward to having him come back to see us for Boarding
#11: Solved by applying his basic training to all situations, and having good leash/training.
#12: That shouldn't be an issue for any conscientious dog parent.
