Part 4 - Saying Goodbye to 1891 Rathburn
After 22 years, saying goodbye to our original home was never going to be easy.
1891 Rathburn wasn’t just where Endless Tails happened to be located. It was where countless friendships were made, generations of customers came through the doors, and more memories were made than we could ever count.
It was the familiar faces at Cordi Bakery. The Longos staff we’d known for years. The customers we’d watched grow up. The pets we’d watched grow old.
It was a place that had become part of everyday life.
And after 22 years, the hardest part wasn’t leaving the building. It was wondering what would happen to all of the connections we’d spent so many years building.
There was a moment when we weren’t sure there would be another chapter for Endless Tails at all. But then something incredible happened.
The people we’d spent 22 years getting to know showed us that those connections weren’t tied to a building.
They gave up their days, their evenings and their weekends. They came to help us clean, pack, move, unpack and set up our new store. They showed up for Cathy and for Endless Tails when they didn’t have to.
Some were new customers, some had been customers for decades. Some had become friends. And some had become family.
Without the community we’ve built over the years, we may have been saying goodbye for good.
Instead, we decided to keep going.
We may have had to leave 1891 Rathburn, but we didn’t leave the people who made it home.
And that is something we’ll never take for granted.
