Holiday gatherings bring plenty of treats, but not all of them are safe for our pets!

Chocolate, grapes and raisins, onions, garlic, alcohol, xylitol, and raw bread dough can all pose serious health risks. Cooked bones can also splinter or cause dangerous obstructions.

Keep food and drinks out of reach, secure the garbage, and remind guests not to share table scraps with curious paws.

If your pet eats something potentially toxic, contact a veterinarian promptly. Don't wait for symptoms to appear.

Gabapentin may be prescribed by veterinarians to:

• Help manage pain, especially nerve pain
• Help reduce fear and anxiety around veterinary visits
• Help manage seizures as part of a treatment plan
• Take effect within about 1–2 hours
• Cause temporary sleepiness or incoordination in some pets

Always follow your veterinarian’s instructions for dosing and use.

Meet Busya!

Busya came to see us because she gets a little stressed when she’s away from her mama. We gave her some gabapentin to help take the edge off, and she settled in beautifully.

Despite being almost 7 years young, Busya still has plenty of puppy energy. She was an absolute sweetheart during her visit and had us completely charmed.

We think she’s earned the title of today’s goodest girl.

Meet Tripper, our 5-year-old Boston Terrier who came to us with a stubborn, non-healing eye ulcer.

Tripper needed a little extra help, so our team performed a burr and grid keratotomy to encourage the cornea to heal. He was also fitted with a protective contact lens and had a temporary eyelid closure to keep his eye protected and comfortable.

Keratotomy has an approximately 90% success rate, with healing often occurring within about two weeks.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on this sweet boy as he recovers. Wishing Tripper a smooth recovery!

We often focus on diet and exercise, but the surfaces our pets walk on every day play a massive role in their long-term mobility. For our senior companions or those with joint issues, a slippery hardwood or tile floor can feel like walking on ice, leading to painful slips and soft tissue strains. By simply adding area rugs to high-traffic zones or choosing softer paths like grass for your daily walks, you can significantly reduce the impact on their weight-bearing joints. We’ve all seen it—the puppy who plays for hours and is ready to go again after a five-minute nap, versus the senior dog who needs a quiet afternoon to recover from a long walk. This is what we call "The Resilience Metric." As our pets move from the high-octane energy of youth to the steady stability of adulthood, and eventually into their golden senior years, their bodies require different levels of rest and support to recharge.

Understanding these stages helps us give them exactly what they need to stay happy and healthy at any age. We love seeing our community’s furry family members grow!
