Look at that glow up!!

Theodore is looking fantastic after his much needed groom. A life on the streets caused his luscious coat to form thick matts that were most likely very uncomfortable. He was so patient and brave at the groomers, allowing them to take their time to give him this beautiful fresh trim.

When Theodore first came to us he was a scared boy who needed time to learn that people are friends. After a few weeks of socialization, Theodore is now one of the most affectionate boys. He loves attention and pets and will even climb on your lap if you’re lucky enough.

We have loved watching his personality blossom as he feels more confident and safe. He loves to play with his toys and is very curious and exploratory around the shelter.

Theodore is now ready to find his forever home with someone who can show him love. As he is still a little nervous he would need to be in a home with adults only or with older children that can respect his boundaries. He has shown interest in cats around the shelter so could potentially be housed with a feline companion with a very slow introduction.

If you are interested in applying to adopt Theodore please email us at [email protected] or pop into the shelter during our open hours to meet him.

*Stray Hold / The Tale of Two Tiny Survivors*

Two days ago, two 5-week old kittens were spotted near the A&W in Mission. One kitten was successfully caught by nearby veterinary staff as it was attempting to climb into a vehicle's engine bay. However, despite thoroughly searching the area, the second kitten couldn't be found.

Our shelter was contacted, and three staff members joined the search efforts, hoping to locate the missing sibling. Unfortunately, there was still no sign of the tiny kitten, and we began to fear the worst.

Then today, we got the call we'd been hoping for.

The missing kitten had been found inside the engine bay of a vehicle after the driver had unknowingly driven it home. Thankfully, the kitten survived the journey, but rescuing her wasn't simple. A firefighter was called in and had to carefully remove part of the engine to safely free the frightened little passenger. Now, after two days apart and quite the adventure, both kittens are finally safe and back together.

We know many people are concerned when kittens are removed from outdoor environments, and so are we. Whenever possible, kittens are left with their mother or reunited with her. In this case, no mother cat was located despite efforts to find her, and the kittens were in immediate danger from traffic, the heat, and the risk of being trapped in vehicles. Leaving them in place was not a safe option.

We're incredibly grateful to the good Samaritans who stopped to help, the veterinary staff who acted quickly, the firefighters who came to the rescue, and everyone who cared enough to make sure these babies got a second chance.

As with all stray animals that come into our care, these kittens are currently on a stray hold while we follow the required process. However, given their age and the circumstances in which they were found, we do not believe they are owned pets. However, if you do believe these girls are yours, please reach out with proof of ownership.

Isla is still with us!?

We’re so shocked that this sweet girl hasn’t received any adoption applications.

Isla is a beautiful 8 month old kitten with gorgeous caliby markings (calico and tabby). She loves playing, attention and pets. She has a very funny personality that will make you smile daily.

She isn’t a fan for other animals so would need to be the only pet in the home.

If you think you could provide the perfect home for Isla please email us at [email protected] or pop into the shelter during our open hours to meet her.

Panther’s favourite spot is in you lap.

This sweet girl is the poster child of lap cats. As soon as you sit down in her room she will politely ask if theres any room for her and accept all the pets you’re willing to give. She has a big personality and an even bigger heart.

Panther likes to get all the attention of her person so she needs to be the only pet in the home. She is also great with kids.

If you think you could provide a safe and loving home for this beautiful lady please email us at [email protected] or pop into the shelter during our open hours.

Kitten play date!

For those worried that Kit-Cat was lonely since his brothers got adopted, we wanted to share this heartwarming video. We’re doing supervised play dates with his kitten neighbours.

Kit-Cat is such a polite play fighter, rolling on his back to let his friend know that they’re just playing. He would be the perfect addition to a home with another cat.

Meet Kit-Cat!

This handsome boy is one of three tabby brothers. While they all look similar he is very easy to identify as he has the shape of a cat on his back. His two siblings have been adopted and now its his turn!

Kit-Cat is a super sweet kitten who may seem shy at first but he is a very needy boy. He loves attention and pets as soon as he realizes you’re not that scary.

He would be best suited in a home with another cat to help him build confidence. He could live with older children that know he needs time and space to adjust.

If you are interested in adopting Kit-Cat please send us a message or stop by the shelter during our open hours.

Keeping cats indoors keeps them safe!

Fraser Valley has lots of hazards to our feline friends such as dangerous wildlife and busy roads. Cats are a domesticated animal that can live fully enriched indoors.

If you are looking for safe options for your cats to explore the outdoors, catios and leash training are highly recommended!

Dorothy is looking for her fur-ever home!

Little Miss Dorothy (or Dorrie as her foster parents call her) has been stealing hearts in her foster home lately. This sweet brown tabby has done a complete 180 over the past two months, going from a semi-feral stray who hissed and swatted everybody to an absolute cuddle bug in a very short span of time.

As much as her foster mom has fallen in love with Dorrie there always comes a time in fostering where you just know a cat is ready to find their forever home, and Dorrie is ready!

Dorrie loves other cats and her foster dog buddy so we’d love to see her get adopted into a home with other pets. She’s playful, energetic, sweet, and curious. She follows her foster mom everywhere, even curling up at the foot of the bed at night.

To meet Dorothy in her foster home in Mission contact us to set up a time.
