We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Rita Perron, who donated $200 in memory of her friends Gaetan Cormier and Marie Charest, who loved animals dearly. The kitties at the shelter thank you very much, and we are so sorry for your loss ❤️

Tick season has arrived, and Honey & Hives generously donated these tick removers for us to sell! They are super easy to use. Just center the tick in the widest part of the slot, and slide it parallel to the skin until you reach the narrowest part, and the tick is removed. There is also instructions on the back of the package 🙂. These require a minimum donation of $5 to the shelter for purchase. Thank you Halcomb Honey & Hives for your very kind donation! 💗

We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to Mary Grace Traer, who generously made this finger knitted blanket, and Helen Mullin, who worked tirelessly helping to sell tickets with her.

Thanks to their hard work, dedication, and generosity, they sold enough tickets to raise over $2,200! This incredible contribution will make a meaningful difference, and we truly cannot thank them enough for the time and effort they put into making this fundraiser such a success.

While they were there Giant Tiger also donated a $100 gift card for them to give to us.

The winner of the blanket was Kathy English!

We would also like to sincerely apologize for the delay in this post. We genuinely believed our thank-you message had already been shared, but after looking back, we were unable to find it. We never wanted their efforts to go unrecognized, and we are grateful for the opportunity to properly acknowledge them now.

Please join us in thanking Helen and Mary Grace for their outstanding support, generosity, and hard work. Their commitment and kindness are greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten. ❤️

After adopting her dog years ago from us, Karine Hachey has written this WONDERFUL book inspired by her furry friend, Buddy. We have copies of it available for purchase right here at the shelter! These stories are so important to tell. They show others the impact you make on a life; by adopting even one animal from the SPCA, you are saving a life.

With every purchase of this book, a portion of the cost goes straight towards a local shelter. If you purchase a copy straight from us at the shelter, $6 will go towards us! If you, your children, or a loved one needs a new read, come over and grab a copy! Thank you again Karine for this amazing project 💗

We are in desperate need of some kitten wet food! Kitten season is in full swing, and we are going through our stash very quickly. If you are able to donate some, it can be dropped off at the shelter during business hours (Mon-Sat 9-3) or in our donation bin outside 🙂 The kittens thank you for your generosity ❤️

💗CATS LOOKING FOR FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT💗

These friendly kitties are looking for a foster home or for someone to foster-to-adopt them. Here are some details about each!:

1st Image: Comet and Cupid
Comet and Cupid are two 10 month old neutered males needing a break from the shelter. These two have been diagnosed with "stomatitis", which is an immune response to plaque on their teeth. This can affect the inside of their mouth. Because of this diagnosis, they have had NO applications for them at the shelter. These two need to go together as they are bonded. Comet (the tabby) is super friendly and loves to snuggle. Cupid (black and white) is a lot more shy, but does like to be pet.

2nd Image: Kit Kat and Baby Ruth
Kit Kat and Baby Ruth are two 10 month old spayed females looking to get out of the shelter! These two have been with us since they were tiny kittens, but no one has been interested in them yet. They love attention, and are super playful, but tend to not get along with others. We would just love to see someone give them a break from the shelter life!

3rd Image: Flora
Flora is a 3 year old spayed female who has not done very well in a shelter environment. She is super playful and loves to be pet, however she does not tolerate other animals, so she is under constant stress. As long as there are no other animals in the house, we believe Flora would settle right in. She is looking for someone to whisk her away from the shelter for a bit!

If you are interesting in fostering/fostering to adopt any of these beautiful cats, please fill out our foster application form found below, and we will be in contact 💗
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us for more information!

We know that $2 a week may seem insignificant, but that is the cost to play a number in our weekly Kitty Kash draw.

If we were to get 3,500 regular Kitty Kash players playing every week, that would result in $3,500 worth of reliable, dedicated funds to help cover operational costs, supplies, vet visits, etc. We would love to see the number of Kitty Kash players increase so that we can provide the animals at our shelter with the best care possible.

We offer several ways to play your number, including many toonie boxes at locations all around the river and the option to prepay your number (we'll post a link below for all the methods of how to do so). Please share so we can see our number of players soar!
