**PET SAFETY AWARENESS **
As warmer weather approaches, as we have seen in recent days it’s important to remember that temperatures inside a parked vehicle can rise rapidly, even when the outside temperature feels comfortable.
If you come across a pet inside a vehicle and are concerned for its well-being:
• Assess the situation from a safe distance.
• If the pet appears to be in distress (excessive panting, unresponsiveness, or signs of heat stress), contact police immediately at 506-623-2124.
• If available, note the vehicle description, licence plate, location, and time.
Police and animal control can assess the situation and take the appropriate action to ensure the safety of the animal.
