Several members of the Monterini family have asked me how they can help animals affected by the war in Ukraine.
I would like to share a rescue that is very close to my heart.
Anastasiia Tykha's shelter is located in Irpin, Ukraine, my hometown. During the early months of the war, Anastasiia became known for rescuing and evacuating animals from dangerous areas, often carrying sick, injured, and disabled animals to safety herself. Her work received international recognition, and today her shelter continues to care for some of Ukraine's most vulnerable animals.

Two weeks. That’s all it took 😊
Lexxa is a 2-year-old girl who had never seen a dog before moving into her new home. And now… this 🖤
People often ask me:
“Are Maine C**ns good with dogs?”
But honestly, the answer usually depends much less on the animals themselves and much more on the patience, emotional intelligence, and understanding of the humans introducing them.
Cats are not small dogs. Dogs are not giant cats 😄
Both species need:
• safe space
• time
• respectful introductions
• predictable behavior
• and owners who understand their nature instead of forcing relationships.
I say this often and I truly mean it:
my adult cat owners are some of the best people on earth. They open their homes and hearts to animals with already formed personalities, habits, fears, and preferences — and they give them time to bloom.
Kitten owners are still only candidates for this title 😄🤍

This girl clearly inherited her father’s dramatic “tiny panther” energy because just like Fahrenheit before her, she has already mastered the art of looking majestic, offended, sleepy, and slightly dangerous all at the same time 😄
Dior is growing into a very beautiful and balanced girl with a lovely temperament and strong Maine C**n features already at this young age. And yes… those ears are very real

✨ Introducing Litter "J"! ✨This wonderful litter was born on April 5th, just one single day after our litter "I". Please welcome the gorgeous babies from our beautiful Lady Liberty and Lasher Mount Desert’s*IT!It’s funny how history repeats itself, but with a merciful twist this time. Last year, Lady Liberty and her sister Lexxa gave birth on the exact same day, delivering a total of 11 kittens. I honestly thought I was going to lose my mind back then! This year, the girls were much more polite. By giving me a one-day gap between April 4th and April 5th, they gracefully allowed me to get at least one night of sleep. Breeder life is full of surprises, but I’ll happily take this one!While the previous litter gave us three boys and one girl, Nature decided to completely flip the script for Lady Liberty's second family. We have 6 kittens in total — 5 girls and just 1 special red with white boy.This litter is a true explosion of colors and a beautiful, diverse palette! The most incredible thing is their phenomenal variety: out of the five females, not a single one has the same color or pattern. With the red boy included, all 6 kittens are completely unique and look totally different from one another!
