Do you love animals and want to gain some real-world experience working in a veterinary hospital?

Minden Animal Hospital is looking for a responsible, energetic high school student to join our team for an after-school position.

What you’ll be doing:
🐶 Helping our veterinary team with day-to-day tasks
🐱 Safely holding and assisting with pets during appointments
🧹 Cleaning exam rooms, kennels and hospital areas
🧼 Washing dishes and helping keep the hospital organized
📦 Restocking supplies
💙 Providing general support to our veterinary team

What we’re looking for:

A high school student who genuinely loves animals
Reliable, responsible and willing to learn
Comfortable around dogs, cats and other pets
Able to follow instructions carefully
A positive attitude and willingness to pitch in
Previous animal experience is an asset, but not required

This is a great opportunity for a student interested in animals, veterinary medicine or a future career working with pets to get an inside look at life in a veterinary hospital.

🎉July's Pet of the Month... just in the nick of time! 😁

Look... our media management wasn't exactly award-winning this month, but we couldn't let July end without celebrating Ernie! 💞

At 16 years young, this handsome Dachshund has been visiting us every month since October 2024 for his Librela injection and a nail trim. The difference? His family says it gives him his spice back—and we couldn't agree more! 🌶🐾

We'll admit, Ernie wasn't our biggest fan at first. (We took it personally.) But after months of snacks, cuddles, and convincing him we're actually the good guys, he's become a regular pro. He strolls in, gets his Librela, has his pedicure, collects his compliments, and heads home like the distinguished gentleman he is. 😇

And can we talk about those eyes?! 🥹 We don't know how anyone gets anything done around him.

Congratulations, Ernie! Thanks for making our monthly visits a little cuter. ❤🐾

Little Bo Rottie, our 12 week old patient came in for his puppy vaccines and deworming today, and honestly… he had absolutely no idea what was going on. 😁

There were treats, cuddles, attention, and several people telling him how handsome he is, so as far as Bo Rottie was concerned, this was probably the best day of his life. 🥰

The vaccines and deworming? Just minor inconveniences between compliments. 🐾✨

Professional chair tester? ✅ 💤

Meet Agatha.

This 5-month old kitten arrived for her pre-surgical appointment, took one look around, and said, "Perfect. I'll be unconscious now, thanks." 😸

No anxiety. No concerns. No thoughts. Just ✨nap ✨

She sampled several sleeping positions (strict quality control, obviously), and proceeded to snooze like she was paying rent.

Meanwhile, we were over here trying to discuss surgery plans while Agatha was busy demonstrating the advanced kitten philosophy of "If I fits... I sleeps... immediately." 😴

🐾11/10 patient.
🐾0/10 contribution to productivity.

Safe to say she passed her most important pre-op test: being ridiculously adorable. 😉😇
