1000. The amazing number of stray island cats/kittens that have been rescued thanks to Kathy Jewell, everyone at Manitoulin Pet Rescue, fosters, and donators. 1000 mouths fed, 1000 warm beds, 1000 purrs, 1000 biscuits made on the daily. This is an amazing accomplishment. Thankyou so much for opening your big heart, spending so much time, money, and love to help our stray cat population. We are all so grateful and lucky to have you.

Tick awareness talk:
We’d like to take a moment to remind everyone about these little crawly creatures. Usually during winter we are free to forget about these little guys as ticks are most likely to be active and feeding at 0 degrees C and up. Although this year we have managed to find 3 ticks on different feral cats living ourdoors at -6 C. Please keep this as a reminder to be cautious of your pets and yourselves even in the colder temperatures. There are preventative measures you and your pet can do for ticks, talk to your vet care professionals about it at your yearly appointments, or give them a call to pick up your products.
