We are super excited to have gotten all of the arena sand in and spread! I was able to have our first ride in our new 90'×220' outdoor on Wednesday. We have 2 sides of 3 board left to install so hopefully in the next week or 2 it will be ready to start bringing c**ts out to ride in. The additional width is an amazing opportunity for expansion and ability to soak up the Nova Scotia summer sun while we can while our indoor is great for poor weather and night riding.

Western C**t Starting spots avaliable!

We only have 4.5 months left of our c**t starting season so now is the time to secure your spot if you haven't already. We specialize in all around western c**t starting where we develop the foundation and life skills your horse will need to go in any direction. Extreme trail, cattle work (cutting sorting and doctoring), mountain riding, barrel racing, western dressage and even just for fun riding are all the directions horses have gone after starting with us.
Our aim is to develop a young horse into soft, willing partner that moves correctly, has good lateral control and is confident in themselves so they can advance in their career with your leadership in any direction you wish.

If your unable to get in with us this year, no worries! We will be back from starting c**ts and doctoring cattle in Alberta by mid April 2024 after some spring ranch horse sales.

We are excited to be working with Black Velvet again this year! Velvet spent a few months with us last year in our c**t starting program then doing arena work and trail riding. She went home to be trail ridden with her owner then had part of the winter off. We will be working with her more this year until she is ready to be sold on consignment for her owner.

2010 Grade, 15.2hh, varnish roan Appy mare.
Awesome to load and haul.
Was started under saddle last year then sat for a few months, recently brought back into work.
Professionally started, would put her around a green broke level just uncurrent, has had 3 rides back in work and quickly getting back in the swing of things. Will need a bit of work on her lope for smaller circles, our indoor is 45' wide and that is a bit tight for her size and balance.

Has done some turn on the forehand, HQ, and side passing. Has gone through tall grasses and shallow water, has been ridden while I've worn a slicker(oilskin) in the rain, ridden unphased while the local welder arc welded, grinded, and banged around making hay spears outside the outdoor riding arena we were at last year. Used to skid steers, tractors vehicles and lots of noise.
She's a good mare, would make a great trail horse and has shown she would be good to just hop on and go once she's finished training. Flashy enough for a show ring.
Is blind in her right eye.

She is a 3 year old chestnut AQHA mare. 15hh, pretty head, well built with no blemishes. She was started in the Olds College - Start the Young Horse program (3 months long) as a 2 year old. She was lightly worked over the spring and summer but has only recently been brought back in for more consistent work starting in September. She has been hauled and ponied through a few different feedlots, where she showed that she does not mind cattle. She is going walk, jog and lope in a bit or rope halter and is now being consistently ridden in a medium sized arena. We are continually doing softening and responsiveness exercises with her and are adding in collection exercises. She is a bit on the lazy side so she may not make for a go fast all day kinda horse. She is wearing front eventers for slip control, we may add hinds as needed.
Her price will increase once she hits our green broke standards.

Sold 3 year old AQHA chestnut mare. 15hh, pretty head, well built with no blemishes. Was started in the Olds college start the young horse program (3 months long) as a 2 year old. Has done a few days here and there over the past year but has been brought into actual work these past few weeks. Walk jog and light canter in the round pen. Good stop and back up. Will be introducing the bit shortly and will be in consistent work from now on.

Restless equine is now offering outdoor board to outside horses. We have a 15 acre farm located west of Beiseker Alberta with a fully fenced outdoor grass arena, a new 50'+ round pen, 5 stall barn, 4 shelters and 3 heated water bowls. We will be trying for a small 30'x80' indoor sand training arena around February 2021. Outdoor board would include use of training facilities, 24/7 hay, shelter and heated water. We invite geldings, but we only happen to have mares with us at this time.

Holly 3 year old Reg AQHA mare 14.3hh should finish 15hh. Skipper W breeding so good all around horses. She has been round penned, ties well, very good at being tacked up, very very soft faced in the halter, smooth lope, knows to move her hindend via tapping her sides with stirrups along with turn on fore and hind quarters in hand, carried my flapping slicker no problem, getting used to ropes around her butt. Had her first ride 2 days ago, turns backs up well, went around a few laps at a walk then I called it a day. No buck, rear, spook, run off, tantrum etc. Trimmed 3 weeks ago. Has been hauled a few times, good to load. Not perfect, just slow. Still slightly spooky at big unexpected movements but we are working on it. When she spooks she just visibly tenses up but hasn't acted out.
