🚩🚨‼️ANIMAL CARE SCAM‼️🚨🚩

Animal pet care businesses, PLEASE be aware of this scam.

I had been contacted by “Elizabeth Thomas” over email, then we switched to communicating via text when I mentioned my email was acting up.

We had been arranging care and details all day today about her two pups staying with me for 25 days.

She included her dogs breeds, ages, personality traits, etc.
One she already owned, and a 5 month old she was getting delivered from her breeder.
She started by saying she was looking for care for her dogs near Kemptville Ontario.

Everything seemed like a normal request at first, until they requested me to accept a deposit cheque, pay the breeder for the puppy, and keep the $400 for the trouble. 🚩

Now looking back, the red flags are quite obvious. Thankfully, I have protocols in place to help protect myself, and my business.

I then proceeded to type “dog care scams” in my Facebook search and came across this person in multiple scam posts who others were warning about.

Sharing to warn all of the pet sitters of this scam‼️ Never accept to pay money to someone else on their behalf.
