What does this crew do after a heavy rainstorm ruined an entire day of play?

The sun comes out, noses hit the ground, and the zoomies take over. There are fresh smells to investigate, grass to roll in, and most importantly we tear up the yard like it's a full time job

The zoomies are back in full force as we frolic with friends, race around the yard, and roll in the grass to our hearts' content. After a rainy day indoors, there's nothing better than getting outside and enjoying every muddy, grassy, tail-wagging minute of it.

Calling all my fellow dog lovers, big-hearted humans, and amazing followers!

I’m reaching out for help. Two incredibly deserving dogs, Bella and Charlie, are in need of a foster home ASAP. They are sweet, loving souls who need a temporary home before going back to their loving mama. (all your expenses will be paid!)

Bella
Bella is a beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She is loyal, intelligent, and loves being close to her people. Bella enjoys spending time outdoors, keeping an eye on her surroundings, and being part of the family. She thrives when she has structure, consistency, and plenty of attention. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly affectionate and devoted. A bit nervous with new people.

Charlie
Charlie is a rescue dog with a gentle soul and a loving nature. After being rescued from Mexico, he has shown just how resilient and grateful a dog can be. Charlie is friendly, affectionate, and enjoys spending time with both people and other animals. He has a sweet, sensitive personality and loves being included in daily activities. Charlie is happiest when he is close to his family, whether that’s relaxing at home, going for walks, or making new furry friends. **He isn’t great with some cats**

Both dogs are looking for a safe, caring foster home as soon as possible. If you can help, or know someone who might be able to, please reach out. Even sharing this post could help them find the right place.

I love seeing our community come together to support great causes, local organizations, and fellow pet lovers. That's why I'm excited to contribute a prize that helps both pets and their people!

Oh Cannelle, this may have been a short visit, but you sure packed your "happy go lucky" attitude. Cannelle had a blast between greeting everyone like they are long lost friends, and playing ball..... We can't forget the ball

A structured environment for dogs isn’t about constant activity, it’s about balance. Dogs should spend as much time learning new skills and reinforcing known manners as they do learning how to settle, relax, and simply exist calmly.

Enrichment doesn’t magically happen because a dog spends all day loose in the house. Mental engagement often comes through the small things woven into everyday life. On long work days, that may mean practicing place while supper cooks on the BBQ, asking for polite manners at the door, or fitting in a short training session between responsibilities, and that’s perfectly okay!

Training doesn’t have to be separate from daily life to be meaningful. Training and enrichment don’t always need to look elaborate to be valuable. Consistency, structure, and intentional interaction throughout the day can go a long way in helping dogs feel fulfilled.

One of the most overlooked skills we can teach our dogs is… doing nothing.

Not every outing needs to be exciting.
Not every environment needs constant engagement.
And not every moment should be filled with commands, toys, or stimulation.

Sometimes, the most valuable lesson is simply learning how to exist calmly in the world.

Sitting quietly at a park.
Relaxing beside you at a café.
Watching people walk by without reacting.
Settling in new environments without needing entertainment.

This is where true neutrality is built.

Dogs who can calmly observe the world tend to become:
• more confident
• less reactive
• easier to live with
• emotionally balanced

We spend so much time teaching obedience that we sometimes forget to teach relaxation.

The goal isn’t a dog that’s constantly “on.”
The goal is a dog that can switch off.

Because a calm dog isn’t just trained.
A calm dog is predictable.

One of the hardest parts of working in pet care, is that eventually we have to say goodbye to some very special friends. 💔

My heart is heavy with the news of BamBam's passing, I'm sure anyone who met him would tell you how unforgetful he was. His excited chatter every time I arrived, the happy energy surrounding him, and the way he could make anyone feel like your visit was the best part of his day.

House sitting won't feel the same without being greeted by Bam's joyful welcome at the door. I am incredibly thankful to have shared so many moments with him, and to have been trusted to care for such a wonderful boy.

Sending all my love to his family, and the fur siblings he left behind.

Run free, Bam. You were deeply loved, and will be missed by all.
