⚠️ Blue-Green Algae Alert ⚠️

We've heard reports of blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) at Reesor Lake. It is important to use caution if you're planning to visit.

What does blue-green algae look like?
It can appear as:
• Bright green, blue-green, or turquoise water
• Thick scum or mats floating on the surface
• Paint-like streaks or pea soup-looking water
• Clumps along the shoreline

🐶 Why is it dangerous for dogs?
Blue-green algae can produce toxins that are extremely harmful to pets. Dogs can become sick by:
• Drinking contaminated water
• Swimming in it and then licking their fur
• Eating algae washed up along the shore

Symptoms can include vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, difficulty walking, seizures, liver damage, and in severe cases, it can be fatal.

🚫 DO NOT let your dog swim in or drink water that may contain blue-green algae. If you suspect your dog has been exposed, contact your veterinarian immediately.

When in doubt, stay out. Keeping our pets safe is always worth the extra caution. 💙
