The City of Markham’s Animal Services team continues to actively investigate recent incidents involving a coyote in the McCowan Rd. and 16th Ave. area. Animal Services will continue patrolling to help support community safety in the areas of:
· Bruce Boyd Parkette
· Russell Carter Tefft Park
· Laurie Park
· Jeffreys Pond
· Ross Brown Park
· Nordlingen Park
· Berczy Park
· Helsey Trail
Residents are asked to follow posted signage and guidance in affected locations. Any coyote sightings or concerning behaviour should be reported immediately to police at 9-1-1.
Residents are also reminded to:
• Remain aware of surroundings
• Supervise children and pets at all times, especially during early morning and evening hours
• Avoid approaching and feeding wildlife
