Are you passionate about dogs and looking for a hands-on, rewarding role? Become a member of our small, dedicated team as a Dog Daycare and Boarding Attendant! You'll provide loving care, supervision, and enrichment for dogs in a safe, clean, and engaging environment. This role is perfect for someone energetic, reliable, and dedicated to ensuring every pup feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for while they're away from home!
This role can be part-time to start or full-time depending on candidate availability.
Note: Working on holidays and weekends may sometimes be needed due to the nature of the business -holidays are often busy!
Experience working with dogs is a significant asset, but not a requirement at this time. Training will be provided.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and distribute food/water according to individual dog dietary needs/schedules
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, playrooms, and outdoor areas, including removing waste and cleaning food/water bowls
- Perform basic grooming tasks when needed, such as brushing, bathing, and cleaning ears
- Maintain overall facility cleanliness and cleaning/ organizing toys
- Supervise group play to ensure safety, using proper dog handling techniques to manage energy levels and social interactions
- Observe dogs for signs of distress, illness, or injury, reporting any concerns to management
- Administer medication and treatments as directed by pet parents or veterinarians
- Group dogs appropriately by size, temperament, and energy level to ensure safe play
- Greet clients, manage check-in/check-out, and communicate updates on the dog’s behavior and health
- Maintain detailed records of food intake, elimination habits, medication, and behavior
- Must be able to stand for long periods and physically manage dogs of various sizes
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings is often required
- Follow safety protocols to prevent animal escapes/injuries
