Summer is finally here ☀️🐶
Which usually means more walks, hikes, beach days, swimming, and outdoor adventures for our dogs.
But one thing that often gets overlooked this time of year? Nail trims 🐾
Long nails can make it harder for dogs to grip slippery docks, patios, or trails, and they’re more likely to crack or tear during all that summer activity. Over time, overgrown nails can also start affecting posture, joints, and overall comfort.
A few signs your dog might be due for a trim:
🐾 nails clicking on the floor
🐾 slipping more often on smooth surfaces
🐾 snagging on blankets or carpets
🐾 excessive paw licking
🐾 nails touching the ground when standing
For most dogs, I usually recommend nail trims every 4–6 weeks depending on their nail growth and activity level.
At Kats Paw Spaw, I focus on keeping nail trims as gentle and low-stress as possible 💛
As a Fear Free Certified groomer, your pet’s comfort and emotional wellbeing are always a priority during their visit.
If your pup is due for a trim, feel free to send me a message to book or ask any questions 😊
