Debbi McArthur is the owner/operator of Prairieburn K9 Academy and she always knew she wanted to be a dog trainer since her first dog “Scamper” a Lhasa Apso/Basset Hound cross at the young age of 12. With the support of the Portage Kennel Club Debbi was one of the youngest members to achieve all levels of obedience and agility with Scamper. She had the opportunity to travel Santa Clarita, Californ

ia at the Dog Psychology Center to work with Cesar Millan and attend his Training Cesar’s Way Workshop which strengthened her passion to help families and dogs live a more calm and respectful life together. This is where Debbi first met Heather Beck from K9 Lifeline who is a trainer at the Training Cesar’s Way Workshop. Debbi also attended K9 Lifeline’s 3D (Dealing With Difficult Dogs) workshop with Heather Beck and also received her e-touch (e-collar) certification through K9 Lifeline in Draper, Utah. Travelling to Ohio she attended TrainSmart WorkSmart Workshop at K9 Ponderosa where she worked with Heather Beck, George Cockrell and Scottie MacConachie. Debbi has worked with well over 2500 dogs and states the most rewarding part is helping families and dogs and watching the transformation in the calmness and confidence of the dog and owner. It is very

rewarding to know that she has helped strengthen the relationship between Mother Nature and humans. Debbi is a a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals, Canadian Association of Pet Dog Trainers, Canadian Kennel Club, Portage Kennel Club, German Shepherd Club of Manitoba, and German Shepherd Club of Canada. She is also the owner/operator of Longburn German Shepherds where she breeds and shows top
