Sea Horse Farm Sea Horse Farm is located in the coastal community of Upper Kingsburg. An outdoor sand riding ring is used for exercising the horses.

It is home to three beloved horses, cared for by local veterinarian - Alison MacKay-Lyons. Green pastures extend from the old barnyard (where animals have been housed since the 1750’s) to Hirtle’s Beach. The horses stay close to home during winter months and enjoy grass for as much of the year as possible through rotational grazing. In the past Alison has offered private riding lessons, but is currently focused on individualized equine care, dressage training and Veterinary Medicine.

It’s that time of year - with the cooler temperatures, we’ve moved the horses home. They’re on round/square bales full time and tuck into the stalls at night. We rotate paddocks often, and work hard to manage the manure. They seem content with the new patterns.

Brought in the “babysitter”: Viper (VIP) is on duty, while Jahina grazes the road shoulder freely and I muck out the run. Wemby is almost as tall as VIP.

Morgan’s have a classic “parked out stance” with hind legs stretched back and high neck, arched proudly. My goodness this c**t is sweet.

Low tide ride!
On Wednesdays I’m not at the vet clinic. I take this time to do farm chores and look after the horses. My friends joke that “there’s often a Wednesday post”. Riding on Hirtles beach in September makes me so happy!
