🐾❤️ As RVT Week comes to an end, we want to give one more big thank you to our incredible veterinary technicians!

We see how hard you work, how much you care, and how much of yourselves you give to our patients every single day. From the busy, chaotic days to the difficult and emotional ones, you continue to show up and give our patients the care they deserve.

We’re so fortunate to have such a knowledgeable, compassionate and dedicated group of people at Cobequid.

Thank you for everything you do. We’re lucky to have you! ❤️🐾

❤️🐾 This week belongs to our RVTs! 🩺

We could tell you how talented they are, how hard they work or how much we appreciate them. But we thought we’d do something better and show you some of our favourite people!

Meet Katelyn, Madison, Ashley and Jenna! ❤️

Four different personalities, four different sets of strengths, and four people who each bring something special to Cobequid.

They’re the people we count on when things get hectic, when a patient needs a little extra attention, when something doesn’t go according to plan, and for all the moments in between.

They’re also the people who make us laugh, keep us on our toes and make our days a whole lot more interesting.

We’re proud of this crew, and we’re happy to have a whole week dedicated to celebrating them.

Happy Veterinary Technician Week, ladies! We appreciate you more than you know. ❤️🐾

Show our RVTs some love in the comments! 👇

🐾 Pet Obesity Awareness Day

We know. They’re starving. They haven’t eaten in at least 12 minutes. And no one has ever fed them in their entire life. 😂

Those puppy-dog eyes are convincing, but keeping our pets at a healthy weight is an important part of keeping them healthy and happy. ❤️

Not sure if your pet is at a healthy weight? Ask us at their next visit — we promise not to tell them who brought it up. 🤫

No animals’ feelings were harmed in the making of this post. 😂🐾

🧡 Feeling extra thankful this Thanksgiving! 🐾

For our amazing team, our wonderful clients, and all the furry faces who keep us busy, make us laugh, and occasionally p*e on our floor. 😂

We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Cobequid! 🍂🐾

Today is World Mental Health Day. 💚

Caring for animals is rewarding work, and it can be hard work too. There are busy days, difficult decisions, and moments that stay with us long after we go home. We’re grateful for the people on our team who show up for their patients and for one another through all of it.

To our colleagues, clients, and community: please remember that you deserve care and support, too. Check in with someone today—and if you’re having a hard time, let someone check in with you.

Reminder:

🩸🐾 We’re doing another Canine Blood Donor Clinic! 🐾🩸

We’re excited to welcome the Canadian Animal Blood Bank back to Cobequid Animal Hospital on Friday, October 23 from 10 AM–4 PM!

Did you know that one unit of donated blood can help save up to three dogs? ❤️ Your dog could be the reason another family gets to bring their best friend home.

🐶 Could your dog be a donor?

Your dog may be eligible if they are:

• Healthy and even-tempered
• 25 kg (55 lbs) or more
• 1–8 years old (before their 9th birthday)
• Up to date on vaccinations/titres
• On heartworm and tick prevention from March–November

❤️ There are some pretty great perks, too!

Donors receive:
🐾 One complimentary blood product for each unit donated, should your dog ever need one
🐾 Free microchip identification at their second donation
🐾 A blood donor bandana & tag
🐾 Milestone dog tags every 5 donations
🐾 Complimentary testing for blood-borne diseases and heartworm, with any abnormal results forwarded to your veterinarian

Most importantly, your dog’s donation can make a life-changing difference for three other dogs and their families somewhere across Canada.

Interested in joining the pack? 🐕🩸

Appointments are required. To book, contact Ariana Pierre at [email protected].

Let’s see how many Cobequid dogs we can get into the donor pack! ❤️🐾

🎃🐾 Halloween Colouring Contest! 🖍️👻

We’ve got a little Halloween fun planned for our younger Cobequid friends!

Stop by the clinic to grab a colouring sheet, take it home and show us your best Halloween colouring skills! 🎨

Bring your finished artwork back by October 30th for a chance to win a fun Halloween prize! 🎁

We’ll be hanging up the entries around the clinic, so we’re looking forward to seeing Cobequid get a little more colourful (and spooky!) over the next few weeks.

Happy colouring! 🧡🐈‍⬛
