Celebrating RVT Month: Get to Know Taylor!
October is Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Month, and we’re celebrating the incredible professionals who make a difference in the lives of pets and their families every day!
This month, we’re shining a spotlight on Taylor, one of the amazing members of our team at Southside Animal Clinic! Taylor graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Ridgetown College in 2015 and began working at Southside Animal Clinic in 2026.
What inspired their journey? Taylor was drawn to veterinary medicine because she grew up in a setting with a lot of animals, from dogs, to riding horses, to being gifted a pregnant Guinea Pig! Through her experience she knew how important it was for animals to be provided with proper care.
What do they love most about being an RVT? For Taylor, the most rewarding part of the job is giving a voice to something that is voiceless. Advocating for animals is something she is incredibly passionate about.
A few fun facts about Taylor! Her favourite animals to work with are big dogs and horses! One skill or part of patient care she especially enjoys is emergency medicine. Outside the clinic, you can find her hanging out with her dog and cat, going for walks, spending time with friends and family, and napping. And if she weren’t working in veterinary medicine, her dream job would be a stay-at-home fur mom LOL!
Their advice for future RVTs:
“Ask the “stupid” questions. Don’t be afraid to speak up. Trust your gut.”
We’re grateful to have Taylor as part of the Southside Animal Clinic family! Her kindness, knowledge, and commitment to animal health help make a difference every single day. Thank you, Taylor, for everything you do for our patients, their families, and our team.
Join us in celebrating Taylor and all the dedicated RVTs who make veterinary medicine so special!
Happy RVT Month from your friends at Southside Animal Clinic! 🐾💙
