Please join us in sending a BIG congratulations to our Vicky as she starts her first year at Ontario Veterinary College!!!!!! 💐🩺

Vicky joined NPC in 2022 while completing her undergrad at Western University. For the last four-years, Vicky has balanced working (at all locations!), academics, athletics, and volunteering while pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian.

We are so excited to share that she is one step closer to her goal! Vet med is lucky to have you, VI, and we'll miss you terribly... But we can't wait to see the career that lies ahead of you as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine 💙

We’re bringing it back 😎♻️ NPC is one of 420 locations across Canada that accept Royal Canin packaging for recycling! THANK YOU to Royal Canin for sponsoring this program through Terracycle… Thanks to them, we diverted 12 kg of hard-to-recycle materials from the landfill today 💚

This is who replies to your emails btw 💚 Can you guess the little one's name? Hint: She's sweet as a peach 😉🍹🍹🍹

There’s just something about the milestone of puppy’s first vet visit 🥹

It was a pleasure to provide that care for sweet Uno! We hope we showed him that the vet doesn’t have to be a scary place, and look forward to watching him grow 💚

3 more bats going out for Rabies testing today! 🦇 🧪 All 3 were found INSIDE London homes with cats in the household — and one was an apartment.

New bat reports are coming into our clinic every week. And the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness has said they are experiencing an influx in bat specimen processing this year… Are you prepared if you find a bat in your home?

Remember:
💉 Vaccinate your pets! (Even indoor cats)
🦇 If you find a bat in your house, do not touch it! Contact your local Health Unit if you come in contact with the bat or if human contact cannot be ruled out.
☎️ If your pets have been in contact with the bat, or if contact is unknown, call your veterinarian ASAP.
💉 Vaccinate your pets! (Ok same as the first but worth saying again)

Also, a special shoutout to Registered Veterinary Technicians and their role in Rabies response in Ontario! These skilled professionals make specimen testing possible! 🔬 🐾 🩺

🚨LONDON, ON - BAT WARNING🚨
We have received many, many reports of bats in houses this summer... Yes, indoors! And in at least one case, the bat tested positive for Rabies.

STAY BAT SAFE:
🦇 Keep all animals in the household up-to-date on their Rabies vaccines, including indoor-only cats.
🦇 If a bat enters your home, do not touch it! Barricade it in a room with an open window or call wildlife control for removal.
🦇 If the bat is found deceased, keep it for testing. Do not come in contact with its deceased body.
🦇 Seek immediate medical attention if anyone has touched the bat, or if a pet, child, or sleeping person is found alone in a room with a bat (even if no proof of contact)
🦇 For any potential human exposure, contact your local Health Unit without delay. For animal exposure (including vaccinated animals), contact your veterinarian immediately.

Like many public health topics, animal health is closely linked to human health! Keeping your pets up-to-date on vaccinations is the best way to keep our community safe from this 100% fatal disease.
