Happy November!! So blessed to be able to add our baby turkey- Lady Eloise-to our flock- once you fall in love with a turkey- you will never eat it again!!! Sweetest girl who will live her life with us being spoiled! She already has a rooster boyfriend! Xo

This post is a please be aware- Potomac horse fever is on the rise- as you all know our Belle suddenly became ill in March/April- Potomac horse fever displays many symptoms- lethargic- off feed- diarrhea- may or may not have fever- thank heaven we opted to ship Belle to OVC- she had emergency treatment but all the tests could not confirm what the issue was… it’s so hard to diagnose- our mini also showed the same symptoms 6 weeks later- we shipped her to OVC within 24 hours- she was treated for Potomac but tests were negative- again so hard to diagnose- please please be aware of the symptoms- educate yourself- OVC is treating many cases right now- our local vets have said they haven’t seen this many cases in over 10 years! The issue is you do not have time-they need antibiotic therapy/ IV therapy right away to have a fighting chance- Belle got antibiotics later in her treatment- she was older with Cushings- Potomac horse fever was so so hard on her- we are thankful she made it home to us for 4 more months- but if she could talk she would want every horse owner to know of her story- RIP my beautiful girl- XO

We laid our sweet Belle to rest today on our farm… you were such a special part of our family. We will remember and honour you helping horses in need! Fly high my princess!
