Located near Vermilion/Lloydminster, AB. Can be brought to Edmonton for serious parties.

UTD on all care, rads & PPE from August 2025 available.

Lofty, uphill movement, with beautiful form over fences. Total puppy personality, very friendly, and social. Middle of the herd, and loves to play with his fellow geldings.

Currently in a program, and doing great. He is being ridden by a professional, and senior lady. Going WTC, and starting over cavalettis. Uphill, rideable gaits. Very sensible lad. His only vice is that he does try to scratch his head on his handler, and needs to be reminded, that is rude behaviour.

He went on a mountain riding trip, as a 3y/o, and attended a dressage schooling show. He travelled to AB, to BC, as a 4y/o, spending two weeks, gaining new experiences, at MREC Horse Park. Ciaran is developing into a fabulous young mount. He recently popped over his first tiny x-rail, under saddle, and was so keen!

One of the most effective methods of training a horse to do all sorts of things is the PUTTER system.

To “putter” means to sort of slowly and unconcernedly mess about, with a tiny time agenda.

Horses get confused about things like what is happening in this photo, and in order for the horse to be super chill, the rider has to be super chill.

The horse moves the wrong way? No big deal.
The horse backs up when it should stand still? No big deal.
The horse wants to get quick? No big deal.

Putter, putter, putter. Sooner or later she’ll figure out what I want, and she’ll be a Steady Eddie about it if I haven’t given her any reason to be worried or upset.

Two opposite “P” words, to PRESS or to PUTTER. Putter beats press every time.

In July, I hosted a Mock Horse Show, for my students to experience, prior to going out, into the (crazy!) world, of horse showing. It was an excellent day of fun, and learning! Rather than placings, each rider was given a few pointers from our “judge”, on things they did well, and areas with room for improvement.

I would like to extend a huge thank-you to our amazing judge, Amanda, for coming to help us out with our educational endeavour. And, to the parents (and one spouse!), who support these amazing riders.

Most of all, thank-you to my students, who work so hard, and have great attitudes, sportsmanship, and horsemanship. I could not be more proud of the efforts you put in! Keep up the great work.

It has been a VERY busy summer, over here, at Asset Equestrian. I am playing catch up, on social media posts!

We had a lovely group of kids out, for a very fun camp, a couple weeks ago. (Almost) all the kids have attended camps previously, and a couple of younger siblings were able to join, this year, too! There was laughing, learning, and tons of fun.

The summer has been so full, I only had the time for one camp, this year! I will be back to my indoor camps, during the cold season.

Introducing the latest mount, looking for new digs!

Shadow is a quiet guy, looking for someone who will use, love, and enjoy him. Long story, short, my client ended up getting quite taken advantage of, in a horse deal, and ended up with this sweet boy, AND a mare, who was unknowingly bred. She only ever wanted one horse, is overwhelmed, needs to try to recoup some of her funds, and focus on this mare (who is a rehab-type case), and unexpected foal.

Shadow has recently started into a full training program, to have him feeling solid, for his new person/people. Apparently he had a couple years of reining training as a two year old - I am dubious, but possibly. I do not have the trainer information. I will find out a little more about what skills he has, as I put more rides on him.

He was very thin, when my client got him, a few weeks ago. She has been working at putting weight on, and I will be working at building some muscle. He does not seem to be a hard keeper, his contrition has improved a ton, since coming to Aspen Meadows Equine. I do not anticipate him being a hard keeper.

Details are in the graphic, but I will add here, too.
