Weir Veterinary Services is a full service animal hospital with veterinarians available 24 hours a day. We take both emergency cases as well as less urgent herd and preventive health, medical, surgical, and dental cases.

We’re quite overdue introducing you all to the newest baby to the team - receptionist Jen had a sweet baby girl Nora Jean on May 12 at 10:19am, 8lbs 21.5 inches long! 🩷

Jen and Nora stopped in for a visit today and Dr. McKechnie took full advantage of the baby snuggles, as shown in the last picture 🥰

We are very excited to welcome Dr. Julia Dereniwsky (Dare-A-New-Ski) to the team! Dr. Dereniwsky grew up in BC and finished vet school at the WCVM in 2025. She has done lots of internships in equine medicine but has always been interested in working in a mixed animal practice. Her first day at WVS was June 9th, so you may have seen her around, but if not please give her a warm welcome when you meet her! We’re all really excited to have a new vet join us!
