The Queens Branch was formed in 1994 and is a foster based branch that offers fostering, adoption and educational programs. We can help.

The Nova Scotia SPCA accepts animals into its care regardless of their age or health. We also follow no-kill principles which means we do not euthanize animals for space. Unexpected life situations happen and the SPCA strives to be approachable, non-judgemental and understanding. On average, healthy and friendly animals are adopted into loving families in less than two weeks! We take in animals by

appointment only so please call ahead. You simply have to call and arrange an appointment so the shelter can learn about what is the most suitable type of home for your pet. The appointment also allows the shelter to prepare a cozy space for your pet to make the transition as smooth as possible. We understand how difficult it is to surrender a pet and thank all owners who are able to make the best decision for their pet. Hill’s Adoption Weekend is happening on June 6 and 7! 🥳 In honour of this exciting event, our resident matchmakers put their skills to the test in this new episode of the Nova Scotia SPCA PAW’dcast! 😍

Sarah Lyon and Taylor Huestis were given lifestyles of potential adopters and what they were looking for in a pet and matched them with their new best furry friend (BFF)! 🐶 They offer some tips to help make the transition as smooth as possible for your new pet! 😻

Sparrow was found stray and brought to safety at the Kings Shelter in June 2024. 🥺 She was only a month old, very small, had severe bends in both of her front legs and had to walk on the sides of her feet and ankles. She needed adopters who would understand her needs. And Robyn and Brandan were committed to learning and providing what a special needs kitten would need to grow happy and healthy. 🥰
