✨💕 Sometimes a little extra sparkle is worth a try! 💕✨
This morning, one of our riders was having some big feelings, and our THRIL team was determined to find a way to help her feel comfortable and motivated. 🥰
Knowing just how much she LOVES all things sparkly, we decided to get a little creative… and even Coco joined in on the effort, sporting a fabulous pink sparkly mask! 🐴✨💖
While all that sparkle wasn’t quite enough to convince our rider to get in the saddle today, that’s okay too! ❤️
At THRIL, we understand that every rider has different needs, and not every day is going to go according to plan. Sometimes it’s about going with the flow, being patient, thinking outside the box, and finding new and creative ways to encourage our participants.
We celebrate the little moments just as much as the big accomplishments, because progress looks different for everyone.
And today? We may not have gotten a ride in, but we certainly weren’t short on patience, teamwork, creativity, or sparkle! ✨💕

🐴💙 T.H.R.I.L. in the Spotlight! 🎙️
We are so excited to share that our very own Kelly Russell-Poliquin was recently featured on Episode 16 of the Autism Resources Kawartha podcast!
In this wonderful conversation, Kelly shares the story behind T.H.R.I.L., how our organization began, and the incredible impact that horses can have on the lives of individuals with disabilities and additional support needs.
From building confidence and independence to fostering meaningful connections and creating opportunities for growth, this episode highlights the magic that happens when people and horses come together. 🐴❤️
Kelly also discusses some of the accessibility features that help make our programs welcoming and inclusive for participants of all abilities.

🐴💙 The importance of a great support team!
Sidewalkers play such an important role in keeping our participants safe, supported, and confident during their rides!
As this participant crosses the bridge, their sidewalker is right there providing additional support, helping them maintain their balance as the horse navigates the changing surface.
Activities like this create wonderful opportunities to challenge balance, strengthen core stability, and improve body awareness, all while building confidence and having fun! 🐴✨
It’s moments like these that show how therapeutic riding is about so much more than just sitting on a horse. Every step has a purpose, and every bit of support makes a difference! 💕

A huge thank you to our volunteers for stepping up to represent THRIL, and to all of you who stopped by our booth yesterday at The LEX! Did you know the Lindsay Exhibition is one of the largest agricultural fairs in Ontario!
And did you know THRIL is a non-profit accredited centre with CanTRA, the Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association! ? There are 15 recognized centres in Ontario and we are proud to be one of them. We have been serving the greater community of City of Kawartha Lakes with quality programs for individuals with disabilities and challenges of all sorts, for over 12 years!
