It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our father, grandfather, father in-law, founder, and friend, Mark Malcolm.
September 28, 1951 – June 11, 2026
After a courageous battle with cancer, Mark passed away peacefully surrounded by family and dear friend, Mike Linington.
In 1979, Mark and his beloved wife Kathy opened the doors of what was then known as Mark's Maintenance. Together, they built more than a repair shop, they built a gathering place. A place where customers became friends, coffee was always on, stories were shared, and family was at the heart of everything.
Mark and Kathy worked side by side for many years alongside their children, Jodie and Michelle. Their grandchildren, Madison, Ashley, and Taylor, grew up around the shop, creating countless memories of helping Grandma in the store and post office and spending time with their grandparents.
In 2019, Jodie and his wife Regan purchased the business and property from Mark, continuing the family legacy under its new name, Malcolm's Auto Service. Today, the business proudly continues with Jodie and his daughter, 3rd generation Ashley.
The business touched the lives of many family members over the years. When Regan and her four boys, Danny, Dean, Dylin, and Dustin, joined the family in 2004, they became part of the story as well. Danny spent years at the shop, first pumping gas as a young teenager and later working as a licensed mechanic. Like so many people before him, he learned lessons from Mark that extended far beyond the garage doors.
Anyone who knew Mark knew how deeply he loved his wife, Kathy, in his final hours he asked Jodie where "Mom" was, his Kathy. We like to think she was waiting for him, just as she always had.
As per Mark's wishes, there will be no funeral service.
While Mark may no longer be with us, his presence will always be felt here. In the walls of this shop. In the stories shared around the counter. In the values he instilled in his family. And in the business he built from the ground up nearly 47 years ago.
Because Malcolm's Auto Service has never been just a business.
It's family.
Thank you, Dad. We love you, and we'll carry your legacy forward.
