The foster reports that Toby is such a sweetheart 🥹🐾 He follows her around everywhere and loves climbing into her lap for cuddles 💕 He’s been doing most of his business outside already 👏 and is getting along wonderfully with the other small dogs in the home 🐶🐶

These puppies came from an underserved community in Northern Alberta where access to veterinary care and rescue resources is very limited. Their mama will also be making the trip down to safety in the next couple of weeks to be spayed and begin her journey to finding a loving forever home of her own.

Meet Taffy. 💔

Taffy is only 3 years old, weighs 23lbs, and is a Terrier X who has already been through far more than any dog ever should. When she came into rescue, the condition of her fur told a heartbreaking story. Her coat was painfully matted, dirty, and neglected to the point where it must have been uncomfortable just to move. Underneath all that tangled fur was a scared little soul who had clearly gone too long without proper care, comfort, or love.

Despite everything, Taffy has remained gentle. She wants to trust. She wants affection. She leans into kindness so softly, like she’s hoping this time it’s real.

Now that the painful mats are gone, Taffy is starting over. She is learning what it feels like to be safe, cared for, and loved. But what she truly needs is a calm, patient home where she can continue to heal emotionally and finally experience the life every dog deserves.

Taffy is looking for someone who will see past where she came from and focus on who she can become.

A warm bed. Gentle hands. Patience. Love. That’s all this sweet girl has ever wanted. 🐾

Meet Lexi 🐾💕

Born September 24th, 2025, this sweet little girl is just under 12lbs and is looking for a patient and loving home to help her continue building confidence. Lexi was lovingly surrendered when her owner needed to move back to their home country, and now she’s ready for her next chapter 🌍❤️

Lexi can be timid at first, but she warms up very quickly once she feels safe and loved 🫶 She becomes deeply attached to her person and absolutely thrives on affection, cuddles, and companionship. She is playful, gentle, and happiest when she has someone nearby — especially another dog friend to keep her company 🐶💞

She is currently working on her house training journey. Her foster is taking her outside regularly to help her learn good habits, and with consistency and patience she is making progress 🚶‍♀️✨ Like many young dogs adjusting to a new environment, she will need continued guidance as she settles into her forever home.

Lexi has been very quiet overall, she is calm, loving, and eager to bond 🤍 She truly is a little velcro dog who just wants to feel safe, secure, and loved.

She was just spayed as well 🩺

✨ Meet Milo ✨🐾

Milo is not the “easy” adoption. He is the one for the patient animal lover whose heart goes out to the underdog — the person willing to give a deserving dog the time, structure, and compassion needed to truly heal ❤️

This sweet little Chihuahua mix is 3 years old and only 8 lbs, but his journey has already been bigger than most dogs will ever know.

Milo is part of Annie’s Little Paws Rescue’s special “Paws of Promise” program. Rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation involving 65 Chihuahuas, Milo arrived emotionally shut down and unsure of the world around him. But with safety, patience, and dedicated training, he is slowly learning that humans can be kind.

Though shy and timid at first, Milo is cautious but willing. Every small step forward is a huge victory — taking treats gently, walking calmly on leash, relaxing in a cozy bed, and learning to trust.

With the support of Unite Canine Training, Milo has been working daily on:
🐾 Confidence building
🐾 Leash skills
🐾 Structure and routine
🐾 Learning to feel safe in the world

Many of the Paws of Promise dogs have already found incredible forever homes and become cherished members of their families. Others continue making amazing progress every day through patience, routine, and love. Milo deserves that same chance ❤️

This is not a quick fix. Healing takes commitment, consistency, and compassion — but for the right person, this will be a life-changing experience.
