🚨 KENNEL COUGH AWARENESS — PLEASE READ 🚨

(Copied from dog daycares in Nova Scotia, Canada)

Kennel cough is highly contagious and can spread quickly anywhere dogs are in close contact with one another — including kennels, daycare, boarding facilities, dog parks, training classes, and dog events.

If your dog is coughing, sneezing, sniffling, has nasal discharge, seems unusually tired, or just isn’t feeling like themselves, PLEASE keep them home. 🐾

❌ DO NOT bring a sick dog to dog events, daycare, boarding, pack walks, or other places where they will be around other dogs.

Even if your dog seems to be feeling okay, they can still spread respiratory infections to other dogs. What may be a mild illness for one dog can be much more serious for another, especially puppies, seniors, and dogs with underlying health issues.

🐶 If you visit dog parks:
Please be aware that your dog may come into contact with dogs carrying kennel cough or another contagious respiratory illness. If you know your dog has been exposed or is showing symptoms, keep them away from other dogs and allow them time to recover.

⚠️ Please take coughing and respiratory symptoms seriously. If your dog develops a persistent or worsening cough, difficulty breathing, fever, lethargy, loss of appetite, or other concerning symptoms, contact your veterinarian.

We understand that dogs still need exercise and enrichment, but a sick dog needs rest and recovery — not socialization.

❤️ Protect your dog. Protect other dogs. If your dog is sick, please keep them home.
